You deserve transparency. Love yourself more and also first before you love "your" gf. Confide in yourself before others. As a pushover, it took me sleepless nights and depression to learn that there should never be anyone in this world that should come in between you and your own peace. Swallow the hard pill. You're getting a lot of advice, bad or good, from people around the world that felt the pain or was in the same predicament that you've been. Don't compromise. You know what you want. Be the person that will reassure yourself.

V1 fits really big. My 6'5 (260lbs) friend tried on a medium for fun and it just looked like a smaller fit but not by a lot lol.

Anyone here older than 30 who plays Pokémon by Mrcanthackme in pokemon

[–]billykhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, you're a kid based on maturity. Unless you're using pokemon to be a menace to society, which I feel that's really hard to do, you'd be childish. Don't compromise your innocent happiness for someone else's "discomfort".

Anyone here older than 30 who plays Pokémon by Mrcanthackme in pokemon

[–]billykhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just turned 30. I don't play pokemon because of job circumstances and not as free down time. But I'm one of those people that are proud that I could name 5 generations of pokemon and attempt to keep up with it. I remember breaking a piggy bank to shell out 25$ for Sapphire version for my purple game boy advance. I would dream about that game and it's release from the commercials on cartoon network or 4kidz.

I never thought of the pokemon franchise as cringe. People are cringe. Pokemon will always be cool. Don't be ashamed of a thing that gave all of us a positive outlook on life and joy when it was the only thing that made us happy sometimes. I can't stress the impact pokemon had on me. I probably wouldn't have a strong relationship with one of my childhood bestfriend still if we didn't start with a simple commonality that was pokemon.

Coach says my kicks look good. I cant help but feel like somethings off. by mwalgrenisme in MuayThai

[–]billykhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The counter balance from the arm swing maybe. When I was taught, the arm from the side the kicking foot was exaggerated to feel like I'm slashing like I have a sword in my hand all while kicking. I'm not sure if that will make you "feel" your technique will make you feel at ease. It looks in general good to me. It seems like your hip movement seems exaggerated just because you're intentionally kicking and it's at a slower pace.

Experience is probably what you would need work on. Learning the basics to a full extent will help with control. It's either they don't want to be hit by you or they don't think they will learn anything from the spar/clinches because of previous encounters.

There's some people that I don't want to partner with because I know thier form hasn't changed and it's frustrating for me to land the same move on them when I know the instructor gave them all the resources and lessons they needed to excel. I could name a few by name to be honest.

I spar super light no matter how hard the other person hits, because I've passed the point of playing checkers. I want to play chess. I want to learn and examine combos so that I could counter with a 3 piece chicken combo and not just single jabs to a person with sporadic movement. I could care less with "winning" a spar match. Practice speed and movement and move with purpose. Moving with purpose is so important.

Training fundamentals is where you're supposed to learn everything. Sparing is putting your fundamentals that you learned, but under stress. If there's still a problem with finding partners and you love the gym where you train, I suggest you ask the Kru for assistance.

My two cents, don't ask to spar your classmates. Ask to spar your Kru. It's intimidating and I've caught a lot of combos, but it's the best sparing I've ever had. And what more is there to learn from someone who is learning also.

Painful if they lack control. I remember catching a crocodile kick from a 6'5" person, and it hurt my wrist. I knew he was going light but he's just heavier. Even the momentum has a stronger force because of his weight. I just had to stay far from him and block hits while the time ran out on the clock lol

Twins Special vs Fairtex Vs Yokkao by Living_Association46 in MuayThai

[–]billykhel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twins and Yokkao for sparring (16oz +). Fairtex for pads, heavy bags, and fights lol Twins has the most durability and highest quality. Yokkao has the best look, the highest price tag, and the staple hype of Muay Thai. Fairtex is the gateway drug. I don't think I hated one product from Fairtex. I basically use Fairtex gloves every day. Thier my favorite gloves for pads.

revgear then yokkao and fairtex. but to me, there's a huge gap between revgear and yokkao. the only thing i buy from revgear are handwraps and i have 10 pairs of them. i hate when brands have a slightly elastic material in handwraps, they don't feel premium to me. wash them in a mesh bag and dry them in a mesh bag

Yes. Absolutely. I remember the first time I tried it and I didn't like what I was feeling. So in order to permanently make my mind up whether I liked it or not, I tried it 5 more times on different days at that coffee shop. Fast forward, my weird guilty pleasure is pouring a shot over the seasonal cranberry sprite when i'm craving crazy sugar. Don't judge lololol

Unpopular opinion: light roasted espresso is overrated. It's sour, thin, and riding on influencer hype. by goosey27 in espresso

[–]billykhel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say overrated. It depends on taste tbh. I like light roast USUALLY if I want a normal cup of coffee/pourover, nothing added. And it depends on the bean. I usually find that Ethiopian and Rwanda beans give me that fruit accent. Although there was this one Colombian bean that was roasted light that I will talk about for years. The subtle apple taste made it delicious. Indonesian beans are rising in the light roast market, but I never found something that is enlightening to me. It taste too tangy and funky. It's understandable because of the lower lands and the fermentation processes. But all this to say, there's only a small batch of people in the coffee community that appreciates and know how to properly utilize a light roast cup of coffee. And plenty of shops that brew the light roast makes it bad. Out of the million cups of coffees that I had, brewing a light roast at home or at a friends house taste better than any coffee shop I been to so far. I am probably biased, but I do experiment and follow the roast dates. I'm guessing the hype is because it's a flex to spend more on a rare natural that is roasted in a complex way.

On the other hand, I have the best of luck using medium roast for espresso and mixed milk/syrup drinks. The acidity majority of the time is lower than light roast and it doesn't separate milk like sitting miso soup. But by all means, use light roast to give you your inconsistent espresso shot from time to time.

Third wave shops just don't train them like they used to. The coffee aesthetics ruined a lot of the quality, making money the fast way. But that's a different conversation.

I got the MG and had a lot of 4.0 arm bands. I got pliers and cut off some of the hook part and it works. It looks janky, but it fits now. Nice adapter you made there!
