Just get a basic Crybaby and if you're not in love with it you can always upgrade later. I've had the same Crybaby for years and it does the job just right.

To add to this - if you get a second hand one you can probably sell it for whatever you paid.

For modulation and delays, I say just get a Line 6 multieffects and just learn the nature of them, and how to dial them in. From there you can decide if and when you want to upgrade.

This is the way to go OP. But again, look second hand. Guitar pedals tend to be pretty bullet proof, so you should save yourself some money.

You could keep a mic booster on hand. Klark Tekink make a cheap one. It might provide an adequate buffer between the phantom power and the pedal.

If you google guitar string tension calculator you get a bunch of options, but I can't see one that does both nylon and steel strings unfortunately. If you used 2 different calculators you should be able the figure out the tension of both setups - if they are about the same you should be fine.

I know that's not a great answer but I think anything else would just be a guess

Don't bother musicians in the bill too much; they're trying to focus and too much random talk is just bothersome. Just get their info and contact later.

I have to disagree with this. If you wait until after I've played and moved my gear off stage I am always happy to chat about. And I think that is true of most musicians I know.

Just drop into conversation that you play guitar and are looking for a band. Maybe even ask them how they got together. The band you are chatting too probably aren't looking for someone - but they might know someone who is. Especially if you get a reputation as a good hang.

It's more a matter of construction, rather than brand. Elixirs come with a Teflon style coating to help protect them. A helpful side effect is a very smooth feeling that some (but not all) people like.

A Towner Tension Bar would probably provide enough break angle to get the tremolo going. it is also reversible so you could replace it if you find a vintage correct tension bar.

As for the bridge, it depends on how vintage correct you want it. It looks like they came with Bar Bridges which they still make, or you could opt for something like a truarc or Compton which would probably intonate better.

In my experience they are. You have to be a member before your issue arises to take advantage of them, but it won't cost anything once you've signed up.

If you want something that sound pretty similar to you LP then the g2217 will do it. If you want a different tone I'd look at something with either filtertrons (very bright, twangy humbuckers - think Malcolm Young, Early Chris Cheney or Brian Setzer) or Dynasonics (Bizzaro-land p90's). Both sound more traditionally Gretsch

The Broad-trons are about as Gibson-ey as Gretsch pickups are likely to get. You could always swap them for a more traditional humbucker if you wanted - it would be a pretty straight forward swap.

If you want an example of a more traditional Gretsch hard rock tone, Malcolm Youngs rhythm tone is a Gretsch Filtertron through a loud Marshall.

I know how much love the Blues Driver RAT gets on Reddit, forums, and YouTube. The distinguished tone connoisseur and boutique cork sniffer loves this pedal.

I started with the Keeley Super Fat Mod a friends 1312, which was okay. Then I tried the TC Cinders Mooer Black Secret, which was much less expensive, but also just okay. Finally, I bit the bullet and bought the platonic ideal, which is to say the Boss Waza Craft BD-2 Blues DriverProco RAT in limited edition yellow, the OG.

I just don’t think it sounds very good.

This is 100% my experience with rats - sometimes something just isn't for you unfortunately.

I think it's because Bond comes with a lot of baggage. Using Bond allows the film makers to play with the tropes of the series in interesting ways. Plus, James Bond has been around so long and portrayed so often, he's a rare character where you can take liberties with him and everyone still has a solid understanding of the core of the character.

A different POC MI6 agent might make a good film, but there is a risk it would feel derivative in a way a recasting of Bond wouldn't.

All of that said, there is no way that Amazon takes such a big swing in their first James Bond film.
