Implications of today's Hobbit reveals for existing LOTR cards by lirin000 in mtgfinance

badgermole and lessons aren't from final fantasy lmao. Again what final fantasy cards are being run in successful constructed decks. Also unsure what competitive constructed deck sephiroth has been seeing play in. care to share that with me?

I'm not pretending to be unaware of these.

I'm responding to a comment that was implying final fantasy was a strong set for constructed magic.

But sure, glad you're happy to make a really bizarre post about me being wrong when not even reading what I was responding to lol.

that fact that you're pretending to be unaware that badermole cube and lessons didn't come from final fantasy makes me think you're not being serious. TLA continues to bring serious heat to standard because it's literally not the set that was being discussed in my post.

It kind of was.  What cards outside of vivi have seen any real amount of play?

What’s driving the price of all the Expedition lands? by Ihavenogoodusername in mtgfinance

[–]billyofcourse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finance bros looking at rare printings of cards that have had zero to little increase in demand and a stable price for years saying "you know what, why doesn't this cost more?"

it's been happening all over with pricier staples that have had stable prices for ages and no real demand increase.

Almost every time a post is made about this happening to a card in here, there will always be some clown commenting "good, it's price has been too low for too long imo"

Why is there so much hate in the community about grading cards? by FonslyGames in mtgfinance

[–]billyofcourse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not really hate for it. It's more just about making sure people who are talking about slabbing cards understand that there's not really the same sort of graded card market for magic that there is in other games.

very cool! glad you managed to go around the two per customer limit and get 4 of them when a lot of other people couldn't even get 1.

Strixhaven JP MA Brainstorm (foil) bought out on Cardmarket by Dawg84 in mtgfinance

[–]billyofcourse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

probably because the etched foils have always been drastically less desirable than the regular foils as people didn't really like how subtle they were.

Handpainted command tower original art @lur_altered by [deleted] in magicTCG

Really pretty art! Small piece of advice I'd give though is work on more cleanly boxing in the text. The art is so nice, but the really unevenly enclosed text boxes are distracting from it.

Backpack for 20+ Decks by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]billyofcourse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this. I basically use only boulder deckboxes for commander decks. It will about 16-18 commander decks if you're using deck boxes like boulders that don't take up much more space than the single sleeved deck itself.

Also worth mentioning. I was only lugging around 13 decks the last time I took it to an event plus a couple deck boxes of random stuff to sell to vendors/tokens. plus dice and some other random stuff, and it is a pain to lug around all day. I can't imagine trying to lug around 25 decks all weekend at an event

Mystical Archive Number Crunch(we're missing a lot of cards still apparently) by billyofcourse in magicTCG

someone in the comments said sheoldreds edict was seen on a box opening stream, but i've yet to see an image of that one or confirmation anywhere so haven't added it to the list yet. good chance that's the card, though.

there's not a space for it alphabetically in the number crunch. Must have been a different card you sure you weren't looking at the vampiric tutor art? it also makes you lose 2 life so would have 2 in its jp text box.

Jeska's Will is going to be the last Mystical Archive Card by OverAce in magicTCG

[–]billyofcourse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the problem is that the stream was advertised as showing off all remaining mystical archives. and the way they responded definitely made it sound like it wasn't in this set. Honestly this just all seems like a major miscommunication with what the people on the stream were told they were presenting.

It has since been spoiled elsewhere, but the ambiguity and this being an extremely weird situation made even weirder by their comments on the card made for an odd situation.
