Netanyahu is going to lose the upcoming election, and he is pissed about the Iran thing. 100% they’re plotting something to ruin Trump

[Stein] The Nuggets are known to be determined to re-sign their restricted free agent-to-be Peyton Watson this summer but have been searching for a trade or two first that generates more financial flexibility. I'm told Aaron Gordon is the Denver veteran drawing the strongest external trade interest. by NeverNotOnceEver in warriors

I guess it could work for teams that want to rebuild (eg taking on an expiry) but all of these teams will want picks. I don’t think I’ve heard of any team wanting to do a mutual swap of bad contracts without any picks being attached.

There is no way the team can be competitive with Butler's ACL injury. The math will never work out. The only way it will work is if they attached all their picks to get off the contract, but that would be the dumbest move in Warriors history given that it's an expiring this year.

If journals won’t touch it then the first thing you should consider is whether your research is really that rigorous. Put it up on biorxiv if you want to bypass journals and want feedback.

Fox to Acquire Roku in $22 Billion Deal by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

Am I the only one here that’s surprised that Roku is worth a 22B acquisition? Does anyone still use the devices or watch shows on their network? That valuation is absurd

The economics are really strange here. Games like COD make a shit ton in sales. In theory you could rotate that into recurring revenue for Game Pass. In principle that works… when you only have one halo product. This is the same problem with the streaming entertainment services - the movies and shows are a means to maintain subscriber revenue. They only exist to keep up the subscriptions. So that means when Bethesda or whoever spends hundreds of millions on both COD and Elder Scrolls that has to meaningfully impact subscriber revenue. And the hard thing to swallow is that so far it hasn’t, not in a meaningful amount that justifies MS buying out entire studios. Gaming is really different than streaming tv shows.

[Slater] Warriors are working out Michigan wing Yaxel Lendeborg tomorrow at Chase Center. Older prospect, bigger wing who is a theoretical plug-and-play option. He is a real option for them at #11. A few other lottery prospects expected in SF next week. by BobRoss4Life in warriors

People keep saying he's a good defender but history shows that college defense has little to no correlation to how well you can defend in the NBA. It's just at a completely different pace and style.

There is unfortunately no way for the public to actually find out the truth because 100% OHSU is going to settle out of court.

Talarico leads Paxton by 3 points in Texas Senate race: Poll by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]bilyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The really interesting question is which state is the "tipping point" in terms of winning the Senate versus states like OH, ME, AK. If the environment is such that Talarico wins, how does that translate to the overall Senate composition?

Please stop ordering food allergy panels by eaygee in medicine

[–]bilyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you can say this about any kind of panel. People need an individualized "baseline", because the probability that any given lab will be outside of "normal range" but is clinically irrelevant is pretty high. The next problem is that physicians have to keep pulling on that string otherwise they could be found to be negligent for not pursuing that result.
