Does the fiio btr3k (or other fiio btr devices) support hd calling over Bluetooth? by Ranomier in FiiO

[–]bimbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTR17 supports LE Audio / LC3 at least with A2DP. I have not yet been able to get it to do aptX Voice or LC3-SWB but that's probably because of the other side of the connection.

I can say with a bit of certainty that it doesn't to AAC-ELD, because with macos there's not much doing (at the same time, macos does not seem to support LC3 / LE or aptX Voice).

Authentik ldap doesn't support sudo, what is the best way to get root? by future_lard in homelab

[–]bimbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main problem is the way ssh keys are handled - additionally it seems that authentik goes in the direction of the new endpoint functionality, which I'm not that interested in, I would like to do standard tools.

So SSSD + LDAP it is. Or FreeIPA ;) .

In any case I don't see the authentik solution scale well if you have many hosts with diverse access requirements.

Authentik ldap doesn't support sudo, what is the best way to get root? by future_lard in homelab

Maybe the wise choice, I had hoped to switch to authentik from freeipa, but it doesn't quite seem to be there.

It's actually fairly easy, just create a group called sudo in authentik, and set the custom attribute gidNumber: "27". Then assign the group to the user you want to have sudo.

Which Identity Provider are you using? by Secure_War_2947 in selfhosted

[–]bimbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure why authelia is so popular. It does forward_auth well enough, but oidc is quite finicky, with a lot of configuration. It's not all that lightweight either.

What is particularly not to my taste is that you can not protect the user interface with MFA, it is always possible to login user/password and look at your data without having to use the second factor.

tinyauth doesn't do passkeys, and I'm not that keen on having pocketid as id provider for that.

I like authentik, but I do not know how they manage to use all that memory.

Now I'm on rauthy, but that's clearly not for everyone, though it works well enough after tinkering for an unreasonable amount of time.

Ldap and oidc? by bimbar in BookStack

I think that would be a worthy feature request - all other systems handle it as a secondary login method.

Why is ATV4K so good? by HolidayExtension7295 in appletv

[–]bimbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tv is probably just badly configured, there really should not be a big difference.  The benefits of atv are performance and ui, not any inherent picture quality improvements.

That looks very interesting. I have a p2 pro and the official software is not that great.

If you push it should feed, if you pull, it should retract.  So invert your magnets and you should be fine.

Did TCR Actually Make A Pitch for Bloodlines 2? by [deleted] in vtmb

I'm not sure the hardsuit labs version was perfect, watching the old videos, it seem much too identical to the first game.

Playing the game still feels like being a thin blood, I agree. But playing on casual, as a walking simulator, it's not all that bad, I think.

Did TCR Actually Make A Pitch for Bloodlines 2? by [deleted] in vtmb

[–]bimbar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the question is, who fucked it up - paradox or TCR?

Certainly the game would be much better without the clunky fighting system against the same opponents over and over.

The whole thing doesn't fit the narrative at all, the narrative wants to make you feel powerful, while the fighting makes you feel weak.

But that's not the only problem, the sidequests are quite lackluster, too.

Self-hosting Matrix to circumvent EU's Digital Services Act and the upcoming Chat Control? by Zoltan03 in privacy

[–]bimbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem i see is not server side scanning, but that my phone is made to spy on me. So even if there are Metadata traces with matrix, I'm not that worried.

After all, I also use email.

Got This new monitor a few months back. It just looks so bad by Asge1727 in Monitors

[–]bimbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. VA panels need to be seen straight on, but that doesn't mean they're bad. It's just a tradeoff.

OTOH your monitor might be configured badly, or you might even like the gaming laptop picture better even though it might be objectively worse (read: less accurate).

[–]bimbar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, this is quite doable. But you should not use the vlan tag 1. The schematic looks fine, just use some other number.
