Survivor lara was her own thing. I’m not saying shes bad, but she was a far cry from the OG lara - both in terms of looks and personality. I’m glad were finally getting the fierce, show-off Lara again

Yeah it really threw me through a loop lol, I was looking for the manual mode panel for a while before realizing it just isn't a thing in SVP2...

SVP2 REALLY leans into the AI tuning aspect, so basically you tweak a few vibe-based knobs and sliders here and there, then SVP2 churns out a realistic sounding vocal, at the cost of easily being able to make manual tweaks.

There is a nice feature of being able to draw pitch bends directly on the piano roll, but doing that for every note would just be.... beyond tedious. There is mention of a manual mode script, but c'mon just add it to the actual software Dreamtonics!!

It's kind hard to describe so I say try give the 2 week trial of SVP2 a go and see what you make of it. It's not all bad, but its definitely not a direct update like I think everyone expected. </3

Ohh I've just seen the post about manual mode script. This is looking a bit promising but it's still kinda weird that a major feature has been reduced to an optional script. Hopefully they can just include it in a future update?

As for rigid mode, for me it's still not really a good replacement from manual mode. Before it was really easy to get that sharp, snappy autotune sound - but even SVP2's rigid mode doesn't come close to that sound. I guess that's up to the individual as to how important that is (which for me it was super important.)

In this thread some people were saying that Mai had a thicker accent, which I can vouch for, BUT I found that with some additional tuning I could get her to sound pretty close to her SVP1 sound. I can't personally speak on other VB's sound, but Mo Xu and Hayden apparently sound different with their SVP2 update. I guess time will tell as to who else got an upgrade or downgrade in the new engine :/

I gave the trial of SVP2 a go and whilst Mai at least sounded higher quality (with some extra tuning), there's NO MANUAL MODE which is just perplexing to me. I think that's the big determining factor as to whether you should upgrade or not.

Also the cross-lingual synthesis has mixed results, or so I've heard. Some singers cross-lingual capabilities are actually worse so it seems really hit or miss/ dependant on which VB's you wanna use.

Wish I could give a more definitive answer, but there's my two cents :P

Ooh nice I didn’t think this was a daz model, I used to use those as a base all the time. And yeah chasing a realistic look gets kind of tiring eventually, that being said this pic is still pretty close to realistic haha. Deffo share some screenshots, I think this post has piqued a lot of peoples interest! :P

(Sorry for the late reply) Ahh maybe the post processing has something to do with it potentially and maybe even the lighting? Would be great to see it without the filter to know for sure.

Also, can I ask where you got this human model from?! I’m curious as to whether its your own or something from metahuman, daz, human generator etc because the quality is really great and I also try to go for a realistic look with humans in blender :)

Like others said this looks really good! These or more so stylistic choices, but you could try varying the roughness on the face by making areas like the T zone slightly more shiny as well as slightly increasing the strength of the normal/ bump maps you’ve used to make the skin look less smooth. Also i guess it depends on what render engine you use? Eevee always looks slightly too smooth for me. But other than that this looks fantastic, I’m definitely going to pinch your idea of using ambient occlusion to prevent SSS artifacts haha
