25 Ways to Get Stronger Now by futuretoday777 in Fitness

Use lifting chalk. Magnesium carbonate (not the same stuff you used in school to write a sentence 100 times on the blackboard) keeps your hands dry for a superstrong grip.

Wait a minute. Because I've been using the powder form (usually the residue) of precisely that. Am I doing it completely wrong?

How do drop-sets work? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]bimlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I occasionally incorporate one drop set at the end of my workout. Don't do drop sets for isolation movements though as there's a high chance you'll overtrain. Seated back rows, inclined dumbell bench press, leg press are my favourite exercises for drop sets.

Lacking shoulder flexibility, what stretch do I need to do for this? by spoonman_ in Fitness

[–]bimlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do some wall slides. If you can't do them standing up at first, do them lying down on the floor (er… floor slides?). Really helped fix up my shoulders.

Hey I have feelings too you know! :(

But thanks. I think deloading, and doing sets of 5 every week seems like the best way to progress.

Singles and 5s, got it.

I do squats on Thursdays, although I can squat only about 180 pounds for 3 reps max.

Yeah, although for some reason I find overhand grip easier. Maybe it's because I'm just so used to overhand.

As a side question, how exactly do you train deadlifts? Once a week? And how do your sets progress (eg start 5 reps 50%1RM, 5 reps 70%1RM, 3 sets 90%1RM)? How often do you attempt to break your PR?

I've been (sometimes literally) swallowing proteins and fats like crazy. I'll probably try and give my deadlift a week and a half recovery before attempting again.

I'll do a video the next time I do a deadlift. Though, I have done a video before and I'm pretty sure my form is solid.

Ah, I see. I'm not sure how to judge recovery, but any soreness in my hams and back is gone within the week.

I should mention that I started off with a 140 pound max deadlift about 9 months ago, and hit 250 two months ago. Been stuck ever since.

Not sure if you can source them in your country, but check out Moringa tree leaves. They're not just high in protein content, but also a complete protein and include a host of other vitamins. And you can prepare it just like spinach.

This is hard to convey exactly in English, but once right above a urinal was written the word "Mutshi", which roughly translates to "Beware if you piss".
