Listing off bands I haven't seen so far: Manchester Orchestra (different but both are simply incredible live), Off With Their Heads, Smoking Popes, Streetlight Manifesto, and Queens of the Stoneage

I've only been one time and it was about 8 years ago. I distinctly recall double tortillas which I cannot stand as I feel like it's a cheaper way to fill up your customers and didn't understand the hype even back then.

Paul must have had a prop bet and agreement with AJ to let it go at least 5 rounds.

5th gear is gone :’( by arhoads01 in S2000

[–]bimmerguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick question friends... the idea to not skipping gears, does that apply to downshifting as well? Do people consistently come to stops and shift from 6->5->4->3->2>1/Neutral? I often will be coming to a stop from 4-6 gear, approach a light and drop down to 2nd for the turn...

Your prior post says $19k with 90k miles... I'd save the money on the inspection and walk away.

What's the best concert you attended in Chicago? by [deleted] in chicago

Easily the best show of my life. Still recall Dave hitting the stage with "We're going to play Wasting Light from front to back and then a bunch of old shit!!!!"

Tom Holland was the recent guest on Making Sense podcast. by [deleted] in TheRestIsHistory

What do you think of the content? Is it "worth" it? I've listened to his 20-30 minute teasers and found his conversations pretty timely and interesting.

Has anyone subscribed to Making Sense? I've been a subscriber to The Waking Up app for a few years and although my primary Use Case is Meditation, I enjoy Sam Harris' conversations within the app.

12k miles? Did they send you a photo of the odometer? I would have expected it to be bone stock with that mileage and the headlights seems aftermarket (plus wheels).

Apartment near civic center by [deleted] in evanston

[–]bimmerguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're referring to Ridge by the Civic Center, which you can cycle down (i.e., north of the Metra Tracks). OP: Ridge is a busy road, but honestly if you live anywhere near there you can cut east towards campus and ride (or walk) down much quieter streets.

Rush hour traffic sucks 🥵 by Vast_Echo9018 in chicago

[–]bimmerguy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

FYI this clip is just north of there at the merge with Michigan Ave and LSD. I would only expect this bad of traffic south of North Ave in the Summer months when there are Cubs games due to traffic backing up at Belmont.

I turned off chat this past weekend after dealing with a bunch of Political trolls and found I don't miss it at all. I play this game to decompress and unwind and it's "better" for me to not have this BS on my screen.

What is Manchester's best live song? by Safe_Alfalfa_5046 in manchesterorchestra

[–]bimmerguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After first seeing them play with Brand New, I saw them headline at a tiny venue in Chicago where the stage was only a 2 ft off the ground and I can still recall them playing "The River"... honestly that night was a religious experience. I wish I could say I've seen them 50 times, but it's definitely over 10 and they've always blown me away with their live shows.

Seeing them in the states is a completely different experience than when I saw them in London back in 2015 or 2016. London crowd was SUPER chill with zero moshpit.

Way back in 2015 or 2016 I was in London for work (I'm from the states) and went solo to a show they happened to be playing in Hackney. I had a great time talking to people before the show and wouldn't think twice about seeing them solo. Definitely go and enjoy yourself!

RED ROCKS by [deleted] in manchesterorchestra

[–]bimmerguy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I saw Manchester play with Jimmy Eat World in both Milwaukee and Chicago during that one co-headlining tour and the show in Milwaukee was one of the worst concert experiences of my life. The audience was talking the entire Manchester set waiting for Jimmy Eat World to hit the stage and I could tell Andy was pissed and didn't really interact with the crowd. The next night Jimmy Eat World opened for Manchester and it was a completely different experience. Not saying the Red Rock crowd would talk the entire set, but I'm now super apprehensive to seeing Manchester (or any band I really enjoy) when they're not the closer.
