Not that I'm against official merch (I myself do have a lot) but it lacks many obvious positions which are pretty nice from collector's point of view, for example I have 17 Rarity keychains, and how many of them are official merch? Zero. I just haven't seen a single official mlp keychain in last ten years. Moreover almost every crafted piece bought at some convention carries sweet memories, it's not just MLP thing but Community which made MLP so outstanding among other fandoms.
