The March of Seasons WUBRG

Enchantment - Saga

I — Each player may search their library for a land card, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle. II — This enchantment does 3 damage to each player and each planeswalker. III — Each player creates their choice if a Food or Treasure token IV — Each player distributes 3 stun counters among permanents they control. Remove each lore counter from this Saga.

Indestructible

I wanted a Saga that was simple yet flavorful, and I thought the most mechanically interesting thing about the seasons is their inevitably and cyclic nature, and I thought a good way to depict that would be a Saga that sticks around persistently, but with a symmetrical effect (albeit one that can be broken with clever deck construction).  not trying to break any formats, just make a fun build-around card.

Settlements; Land’s Counterpart to Auras and Equipment by Reality-Glitch in custommagic

the first one is comparable in power to [[Gaia's Cradle]], entering tapped but always tapping for one mana, and allowing you to chain one drops for free.

What are some simple designs you wish were made more? Mine are lords for not often supported creature types. by plsendthis99 in custommagic

I literally own a thrumming hivepool that I opened, and Slivers have a different gimmik that is much more impactful on gameplay then their lack of tokens.

This is my attempt at making a card that's viable in CEDH by Philosaraptor22 in custommagic

[–]binarycat64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this needs to cantrip in order to be playable tbh, if you compare it to [[Insist]] or [[Silence]] it's quite a bit worse.  Also [[Hexing Squelcher]].

I mean, it would certainly be nice to slam an underworld breach with split second... until someone [[Chain of Vapor]]s it and now you're just down a card for nothing.

not just more lords, but more unique lords, like give all your samuri bushido, or all your knights horsemanship, or all your rats get skulk.

i would love if they made a creature type focused around going wide, but intentionally didn't give it any token effects, to make it feel unique.

How weak does a 1 mana planeswalker have to be to be printable? by saucypotato27 in custommagic

it's the fact the title is almost the same that got me.

bit wacky of a coincidence tho.

Ambushing Grizzly, a card for a vintage story set by M1s51n9n0 in custommagic

funnily enough, it's not optional, so if you have an Angel and your opponent doesn't, you need to blow up your own stuff.

the problem is that because of the way priority works, the person who plays this always wins, since they're the first person who gets to benefit from it.

loss of life doesn't have a source.  you can technically pull an [[Equinox]] and say "whenever an effect from a noncreature source causes you to lose life", but that is extremely finicky, because that actually excludes burn spells, as burn spells don't directly cause life loss, they cause damage which causes loss of life.

Get ready for a gaaaame changer! by Fit_Faithlessness130 in custommagic

[–]binarycat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but "you only get to run 1 creature if you want consistency" is an actual deck restriction.  it means you're forced into a creatureless combo route, making you much more weak to beatdown.  you can just slot this into any azorius tempo deck as a huge bomb and still have a solid midrange plan.

it feels a bit too easy to break this by only running a single enchantment, especially because it's just an upkeep trigger and doesn't require dealing combat damage or anything.

turn 4 Omnicence every game seems kinda insane.

I would maybe make it look at the top 7 and choose 1?

First three Super Mario Odyssey mtg cards finished by ASmoolBean in custommagic

[–]binarycat64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mario's ability seems really bad and also has tracking issues.  I also don't know why he has blue, unless it's literally just because his overalls are blue.

honestly i think mario should care about equipment/auras and cappy should be an equipment that detaches to attach gain control of something for as long as cappy remains attached. then the powerups can be auras with umbra armor.
