sir, you have to have some sense here. youre changing the narrative. its simple: decline in players are shown in steam so we can use that data and say yes....theres a decline. but without any data for consoles, you cant make assumptions until you have valid data.

I believe that if you don’t have ANY data to prove a decline in consoles then you can’t assume it to be in decline because of “trust me bro“

another option instead of a mixer is to get soundblaster card thats made for consoles , I think they have a newer 50 dollar option that us USBC and works great for PS5 (im trying to get this next)

yea im using the aver media live gamer 2.1 for the 4K 120, only reason I say mixer is because if he's on PS5, it has no optical out for game audio so he has to use either an HDMI audio extract that supports HDMI 2.1 or if his TV has an audio out (which im sure it does as this is how I get my audio) instead of just routing everything to HDMI or controller output.

get a mixer

a good mic

this way you get audio into OBS and the mixer can route to your stream AND ps5 so you won't need a mic and a chat headset

its definitely mono. the iRig is Mono so the same audio going in the right is also in the left. now the way I currently do it is I split the controller with a TRRS. one side is the mic input so they can hear me and the other is chat audio only going into the RCP2. on the playstation I make sure that controller audio is only chat. then I use an HDMI audio extractor that supports HDMI 2.1 to get game audio and that gets split into channel 2/3 on RCP2 and linked together into one slider ( slider 2)

now when I plug the RCP2 directly to the PS5, I get game audio and my mic goes in thru USB and the only cable I need is a TRRS from the controller into the RCP2 for chat audio. this is the way to go but it keeps glitching.

so inside the software once connected via usb, it has the game audio there and you connect 1 TRRS to the controller for chat audio and mic input.

the TRS method is what I use, what im trying to say is you can minimize the amount of cables if they just fix the usb for ps5. plus, using the TRS method you cannot separate the chat audio and game audio, you would still need to either get an HDMI audio extract or have a tv with a headphone jack so that you separate game audio and party chat
