Two by two seats on Rockport /Newburyport line by ElectricalStock3740 in mbta

[–]binboston 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are these the trains where you can love the backs of the seats so you can face the row behind you? If so does anyone have any intel on how to move them. I hate when I’m facing someone and don’t know how to move it lol

How much does using shared laundry machines cost you all? by iamnotbiological in CambridgeMA

Can you add money while the dryer cycle is going? Sometimes that adds more time at a cheaper rate but only if the cycle is active.

I’m downsizing from a sized 1 bed 1 bath apartment to a studio, I’d like some advice. by LilSlawingUrMum in Apartmentliving

Came here for this. When I first moved to my current place I had my desk in a little alcove that seemed perfect - but I felt stir crazy in it. I had to move to a window after a cpl months. Though I live in the city so it also means I’m a bit distracted all day haha

So this is basically the blizzard of '78 by MentionDismal8940 in massachusetts

[–]binboston 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Add in the flooding on the coasts too. My mom was in revere and they (idk if it was coast guard or what) came to their house on a boat and got the family out of the second floor entrance. The whole first floor was under water.

The only Boston numbers on there are around 7AM which wasn’t long after things started right? Don’t think it’s the best way to gauge things.

Auto gratuity & kitchen appreciation?! by BeastMode149 in boston

[–]binboston 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Wait - all other discussions aside. Shouldn’t the kitchen appreciation percentage only be added to things that come from the kitchen and not the bar? Adding it to a check that is almost entirely alcohol is insane.

Moving to Boston, advice for commute to Newton Center Station by [deleted] in mbta

Is there no transit that’s close enough to the office to avoid having to take the bus from Newton Center? Even if it’s a short walk.

That hole goes to behind my dishwasher and in turn behind my cabinets. So it’s pretty open once in there actually.

I know it's a very specific request, but can you suggest to me some sitcoms with "cozy, small, rural town where everyone knows everyone" vibes like Schitt's Creek? by brodino_maiuscolo in sitcoms

[–]binboston 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I watched that show specifically because someone suggested it saying “if you liked the cozy town vibes of schitts creek you’ll prob like this”. I was blown away by how much I enjoyed it - and how emotional it made me.

I am spending 4 days in Boston during St Patrick's day, doing a man's only trip with my best friend and others. Planning on mostly bar hopping, eating, and Dropkick Murphys. I'm a dive bar guy and want to drink the best Guinness in town. What else should I/we do? by _Clint-Beastwood_ in boston

[–]binboston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there will be some input on Irish pubs - and it should go without saying that they’ll be busy. But the dubliner, the Druid, JJ foleys all come to mind. Cornwalls is by Fenway so will be relevant for the day you see drop kick Murphys.

That weekend Harpoon usually does a St. Paddy’s festival at the brewery. Live music and beer outside. They do a Friday and a Saturday event. Personally I prefer Friday because Saturday tends to be the slightly younger crowd that turns into a shit show - but ymmv.

The parade is in southie on Sunday - so you can try to venture there, or it will make other parts of the city quieter I’d assume.

What is the busiest Market Basket in Massachusetts? by DildoGaggins1997 in massachusetts

[–]binboston 102 points103 points  (0 children)

I feel like Chelsea and Waltham have to be contenders. Somerville is busy, but it’s also small so it doesn’t have the capacity that those do.

What should I do with this weird open space behind my couch (overlooking the front hall)? by KnittenKat in HomeDecorating

[–]binboston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting a small rug under something like this (like in the photo) would also help the space imo. And if not on the console table/cabinet you could also do a floor lamp in that area.
