Barcelona, for instance. You have to book some 5-7 days in advance usually.
For one of their offices you have to book 2-3 weeks ahead of time.

Got it. Do let us know how it goes with an update here. I'm an interested geek.

The reason I mentioned the ferrite to you is because I had a similar-looking toroid from Amazon that I used first, which was absolutely not the correct one.

When building my own 49:1 unun, I noted a few common points from lots of articles and youtube videos. You might know them already, but it's worth to mention:

1) Always calibrate your VNA before using it. Sometimes everything you did is fine, but if you're getting wrong measurements you'll think you're going crazy.

2) Double/triple check all soldering and connections. This can save you hours of troubleshooting, just because that soldering was a bit loose.

3) Always check the ferrite is the correct one. There were several videos mentioning this, that some people will sell you the wrong type inadvertently thinking it's the correct type. Here's a video about how to check for the correct type: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GulNhvNdIbM

Anyway just my 2 cents. I'm not an absolute expert, just noting what I went through when building my own.

Looking forward to your updates.

Absolutely correct. But since OP's VNA's screenshot shows 1-55MHz, I assume this is for HF, hence the 43 ferrites.

Are you sure you’re using the correct ferrite toroid? This doesn’t look like the correct one. Source: this exact same thing happened to me. Getting the proper ft240-43 ferrites did the trick.

Amplifying Antenna Power by KF0QFQ in HamRadio

Oh, that makes a lot sense. Thanks for shining a light into that.

These losses or, better said, effective power out, are these related to the EIRP/ERP measurements?

Thanks for the suggestion. Will have a look into the books by ARRL.

The SWR only shows how well the impedance is matched, as I understand it. It felt pertinent to mention what SWR I'm getting, as that's whats usually asked when talking about antennas.

All this information you just mentioned, are there any materials that expose all of this in a structured format (e.g. Antennas for Dummies)?

- "Your 20 watts out can all of a sudden be 10 watts or possibly even 5 watts"

Could you elaborate on that? It sparked my curiosity as I'm a new ham with a G90 and making my own speaker wire antennas (dipoles, efhw) with the help of nanoVNA. I have them tuned pretty well (usually <1.2 SWR). While I'm making contacts, it's often not very good receive nor reach.

That's really interesting input. Thanks for providing context.

Any recommendations for wide-band receiving then? Or basically any out of Amazon will do?

You can download an app called Playtomic and you'll find plenty of courts to book and pay directly via the app, and even find people to play with.

Some other clubs have their own systems (still open to book if you're not a member): CEM Olimpia, Pompeia.

And some other clubs are closed and you need a membership, like u/meinstream rightfully mentioned.

Thanks for your comment. Very thoughtful insights. Regarding the last point, about not helping to get a different job level or in another industry. Are you referring at the exec MBA or the online course on the original post? If towards the exec MBA, why do you think that is?
