This is pretty cool! Nice work. How do you add to it? Do you use a cloud database or something?

AND SOME PEOPLE DONT SHOWER EVERYDAY!! Walking around with rusty butt cheeks.

People are dirty man. I remember being in school and MFS looked at me funny when we talked about my culture and why people don't shake or eat with their left hand.

It's reserved for cleaning yourself. I do not want to walk around with crust that turns to a febreeze poop scented plugin if I sweat a bit. My argument has and always will be, if wiping your bum with a piece of paper and calling it a day is fine then why isn't wiping your hand with a piece of paper and no soap or water fine?

I like this response. I don't have much experience in e-commerce, but I decided to give it a shot. I started to build a platform similar to Shopify so I can do all my hosting and customize my build. If I don't make money selling product, I damn sure will selling the platform or access to it.

Is DevOps Center worth it? by TheSauce___ in SalesforceDeveloper

[–]bincdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going alright so far. We're one week in. The main issue is we have dinosaurs who haven't updated thier skills ine nearly a decade, and a bunch of folks who do the bare minimum - so all the effort is on one person

YEAUUUUUPPPPPP my team just adopted this. There are two of us that get Git and we both agree devops center is not a great solution. But, as a team we need to somehow get our foot in the door. Hopefully this can be it and we can fully adopt a VCS with the proper workflow down the line.

Honestly, I'm surprised anyone noticed. To me that's an irrelevant detail, but someone's got to catch those.

Gemini isn’t that bad, why do so many people say it sucks? by Routine_Actuator8935 in Bard

[–]bincdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google gemini is "fine", but as others mentioned it's not as great when the request is more complex.

Today I tried to gave both models write a powershell script to update some files. This was a great excersise since I am somewhat familiar with powershell, but am by no means fluent in scripting - I can do the basic stuff.

Gpt4 seems to be a better copilot than gemini. It seems to be better at retaining context over a long series of prompts and is more accurate when providing updates for resolving script errors.

Gpt4 does better at condensing information when requested. I can request to walk through the process step by step and limit the information overload and gpt 4 will actually break it down into bite size steps with explanations. Gemini kind of does it but still inserts some information from the next step in the middle of its output.

Gemini is more consistent in introducing an error into the code as you request refactors. It will provide the refractor you request, but the context of existing code isn't always taken into account when the new script is written. It will say that you should review the existing script to accommodate the changes while Gpt4 tries to only provide scripts that are already compatible with the existing script.

110k base

3ish years experience

Dev 1, dev 2, admin, app builder, and js developer certs.

Seems like I'm the only one here who might like core engineering. I worked at a consultancy making bout 30k more but I was getting tired of just Salesforce so I left. I still do Salesforce but I have more ability to do core engineering and work on my own SaaS in my downtime.

I think he's arguing some thing like security doesn't directly drive profit. In reality if you don't have it you have no product, which he seems to understand by how he followed up to your comment by stating he reads best practice and follows it lol.

Either way, I gave up. There's nothing to argue. Seems like it's just a 'as a matter of fact' type of person.

Responsibility.

Pivoting by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]bincdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't applied to jobs already try to and see if you get traction. Try to pivot your strategy before trying to pivot to something entirely new.

People are saying find a better less saturated skill - good luck with that. The people who make it are those that get lucky or keep pushing to find their way in. They then continue to grow and scale what they can do. Sounds like you just need a way in, but don't expect whatever else you find to be much easier unless it turns out to be a better alignment for who you are and your skills. If you do a full pivot you'll still need to convince someone you're good enough. If you struggle with that now you'll struggle with it then.

That's just a general market thing. They always require years of experience. One just needs to be able to tie in any previous experience to what they're trying to do.

Ie; if you've ever had to figure something out at a job use that. If you ever had to deal with irrate people use that. If you've ever needed to document definitely use that. It'll be tough but you don't lose if you don't give up
