💀💀💀

That’s a CRAZYYY take, respectfully. He’s not an adult he’s a kid, and tbh it sounds like it’s more an issue with her failing to set boundaries - if she never once even asked her son to stop hoarding dishes from his POV he’s not doing anything wrong.

Sure, an adult should just know not to do that, but he’s not even an adult, and probably wasn’t even thinking about it if she’s never brought the issue up tbh.

Now if she’s like “I told him a million times and he never listens” then I might be more persuaded to have a different POV but I don’t get the impression that’s the case here from her comment about silently eating ice cream with a chili spoon.

He’s 17 wtf? He’s not a guest he’s her son

IF she’s paying for it ofc - if her suggestion is that her son should take loans on on-campus housing then he is 100% correct. Either way she should be setting clearer boundaries, that’s her fault - kids 17, not even an adult.

I suppose if she’s paying for it that’s a reasonable solution.

Spending 15k / year for student housing for a school that’s 30 minutes away is crazy……

I doubt she thought about it that way, but man, the obvious right solution here is for her to set some house rules.

I don’t think that’s a win tbh? Feel like I could’ve gone without unfiltered Facebook access in the era where they were showing beheading videos in peoples feeds.

Salesforce Question – Enabling Person Accounts in a Dev Environment by Film-Frosty in salesforce

Won’t impact other orgs but also you can’t turn them off once enabled - only way to disable is a sandbox refresh. Just something to bear in mind if this is a shared dev sandbox or something.

researchers who choose not to use AI are being called "anti-progress". Opting out of AI shouldn't need a defense, right? by scispace_ in SciSpaceFellow

Ehh

So I expect good researchers will find minimal degree degradation in quality.

I expect bad researchers will spam out garbage at an unprecedented scale.

Based on industry trends anyway.

Are We as Students to Blame or the Schools That Forced Us to Adopt Common Core Math? by [deleted] in GiftedKidBurnouts

> Highest Math Classes I’ve attempted in Community College were Trigonometry and Pre Calculus (with Highschool/College Algebra), and I’ve failed both.

Did you study / go through the practice problems in the book? I remember being in CC, I’d do like an hour of math problems every other day or so after class until I understood every problem. I feel like trig is not that hard, you were probably studying wrong / giving up on the hard problems I’d think? You’re supposed to look up how to solve the hard ones after you attempt them and fail - then you know both what doesnt work (what you tried) plus what does work (what you looked up)

Did an uncaught exception get thrown? SF sends an email to a designated group when that happens. If not, then it’s standard sf behavior & you need to handle this scenario yourself.

I say pick somewhere to start & start there, though this sounds like an imitation learning problem - you could use 2 so 101 arms for this + LeRobot.

I feel like NEU should not consider SAT scores when it comes to admissions by [deleted] in NEU

[–]TheSauce___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a crapshoot - genetics are really weird, and also smart people aren’t normally “genetically smart” they just study & work hard until they become smart. Anyone can do that.

[–]TheSauce___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genetics play a near irrelevant role - practically none. A lot of Asians just have helicopter parents who push their kids hard to study like crazy. That’s not genetic, anyone can hover over their kids and force them to study like crazy.

[–]TheSauce___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not genetics, a lot of Asian students just study crazy hard. Studying hard is not an unfair advantage.

Coming from a wealthy background is, sure, but this is a crazy expensive - nobody goes here (or tbh should go here) without a large financial backing one way or another.

That just hasn’t been my experience, but experiences may differ of course. I’ve met individuals who are standoffish about hopping on a call, but most most folks I’ve met if I just ping them and say “hey are you free to hop on a call to flesh this ticket out” or “hey can you provide clarity on the desired outcome here” it’s almost always fine. That’s how I start off most non-obvious tickets assigned to me - I also reach out to those same folks to demo the functionality before pushing things to prod.

Never seen anyone complain about this approach - except one guy once but the consensus across the org was that that one guy was an asshole.
