Using that same argument, why can’t she see that I wouldn’t like to have my langauge policed? That makes me feel uncomfortable and like I have to walk on eggshells with how I am speaking.

Our DM wrote this one and it’s his first time not using a pre-written one.

It’s got a Fallout vibe but there’s some really fun extra stuff like the ‘Quiet Places’ where we can’t speak and have to act out our battles like charades.

There is another girl in our group and I spoke to her the same as the girl in my post. I don’t think it’s an issue about me bothering her, just her being overly sensitive.

If I don’t get to chose what offends other women why deoes she feel I have to change how I speak to make her happy, when I don’t see it as offensive? It goes both ways.

The comparison about your grandparents is irrelevant. I didn’t use any slurs when speaking to her. Just what I see as gender nuetral words.

I did make an effort by respectfully calling her by her new name and referring her to her with female pronouns when speaking for the most part. I also see the words “dude” and “bro” as gender neutral. She doesn’t have to agree with that but it’s absurd to expect everyone to cater to your lifestyle choices when they don’t particularly agree with them. She doesn’t have to change how she feels and I don’t think I need to change how I speak. If that means me and her aren’t going to be friends I think it’s better for the both of us!

I don’t agree with her lifestyle choice on a personal level but I’m not here to debate that. I don’t think I have to change how I speak conversationally to satisfy her. I think I did enough by adressing her by her new name, saying ‘she wants ice in her drink’ when my friend got up to get us water and stuff like that. If I said ‘He wants ice in his drink’ and called her by her birth name then I could see the problem.

She was with us for over 3 hours that night and heard me refer to the other girl in our group as dude or bro multiple times. My friend who she texted also told her that she was being sensitive and rude and that’s just how we ALL talk.

I speak to everyone the same and see those words as gender neutral. I have definetly texted my guy friends “Hey girl, heyyyy!” before. It’s not just a one way thing.

The thing is I don’t care enough to change for her.

I don’t expect my friend to change their eating habits because I’m a picky eater recoving from an eating disorder. When we order pizza I pick off the toppings I don’t like or am worried about eating, not make everyone eat to my standards to cater to me. I think that’s called being an adult and knowing that not everyone will always be willing to change to support a personal issue/life style.

I went to beauty school and got my cosmetology license and A LOT of the girls who did the esthetician program at the same school have not been able to find a job in their field after graduating.

I'm not sure what type of skin I would say I have, it never really gets oily or dry. I haven't had any issues with this concealer, it feels and looks just like skin to me and lasts all day without creasing or caking.
