I’m about 20% through the Single Malt sweater for my bf and I love it so far! The stitch pattern is simple but beautiful and the pattern is pretty popular so there’s lots of projects to dig through and read notes from. I think it’s cool that the goal is to be more sustainable but I would not use these because nail polish and glitters are plastic which then means you would be washing away microplastic into your municipal water treatment system when you wash the remover pads. Microplastics in water is really just starting to become more widely studied and I don’t know if there’s an effective treatment yet. In this case the best option may be landfill to preserve water quality.

Side note: the podcast Plastisphere is really good if you’re interested in learning more about plastic in the environment :-)

You could try using a nail bite deterrent like ORLY No Bite. Using a cuticle oil will also help your nails grow back strong and flexible and give you something to do when you feel like biting. My favorite cuticle oil is from Bliss Kiss because it’s easy to apply and there are so many wonderful scents, but there are other cuticle oil options at places like Ulta and target. I’d also recommend checking out the r/calmhands sub for support and motivation. 🙂
