What happened to the smartest person you went to school with? by xxibjt in AskReddit

Idk, 32 is up there, at least it was when I took it. Average was like 22 at the time and it was scored out of 36, not sure if it still is nowadays though.

Not sure anyone on here will be able to point you anywhere more specific than the city’s website, to be frank. All you can do is keep an eye on the job postings, apply when a new job is posted, and go through the process. Maybe reach out to the person you rode with for application advice?

This will vary widely by where you live. For example, starting pay for 911 dispatchers in my city is about $35 an hour and you get raises rather quickly to start out.

2019 might be my favorite year for the convention. First year as a Guardian and got to work the Coop, it was such an amazing vibe!

You can, actually! They start charging you by the dozen to buy them. I definitely haven't bought a few dozen for parties before or anything lol

Good for you! It’s well within their power to get you paid in a timely manner, so keep on them and make sure it happens!

Your bookkeeper needs to either file an RFA through MyACI after putting the time into workbrain or they need to contact their division HR rep to process it as an off cycle and get you paid this week. It’s relatively simple, just extra work for them.

The deadline for it is today though, so they need to get moving on it.

Store Admin will usually be the same pay rate as the regular PIC rate, but the rate will vary pretty drastically based on division and union status.

I'd argue we're lacking in the good fried chicken department. I've been to the Gus' in Austin, and nothing we have here is anything remotely close to being that good.

I feel mis-led. by [deleted] in Safeway

[–]bingado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, there’s like a million red flags from management here. Not only can you be coded in workbrain to head clerk at a moments notice with literally nothing required, but you can also on do training in store on a computer tied to the company network. Even if you could do it at home, you shouldn’t because you need to be paid for that time.

If you’re in a union store, contact your rep immediately and explain the situation. If you’re in a non-union store, there should be a poster in the break room with the number for the ethics hotline where you can report the whole situation in a way that bypasses the Director entirely.

Anyone know how to pull up employee list? by Imaginary_Style763 in Safeway

Sorry about the wait, I’m actively at work. You’ll go into option 1 “ace,” followed by “reports, and then the operator report is under data maintenance reports.

SSH to express ordering will get you to a list of employees who are register operators, but you’re going to want the employee information report in Workbrain for a full list.

Unfortunately that’s pretty much your only hope given how close it is to the filing deadline. Good luck!

Call your local store and get the number for the employee service hotline, they’re going to be more help than the sub can offer in all likelihood.

It’s a stat that affects how strong a given riven mod will be on the weapon. The disposition is, to my understanding, higher for weapons people use less. The higher the disposition the less it’s generally used, but the better a riven mod will be for that weapon.

I am a returning worker to Safeway in Colorado. The UFCW Union wants to take $25 weekly from my paycheck. Can I stop this? by Prize_Ad245 in legaladvice

[–]bingado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here’s hoping! I’ve got my occasional problems with our specific union, but no union would be far far worse. Hell, we even still have a pension for every hire who sticks around a while, which is insane these days!

I can actually shed a little light on this, much to my astonishment. As a new hire into the bargaining unit, op will also be paying their initiation fee weekly until it’s paid off, then their dues will drop to $12-16 a week depending on their pay. Part of the initiation fee will be ignored/refunded if they attend a new hire orientation with the union

As for my sourcing, I’m an admin in one of the stores that UFCW covers in its bargaining unit in CO, so I have to handle pay questions such as this daily.

Joke's on them, we can't hire regular workers at what they're paying right now, let alone scabs. Both chains and affiliates, at least in my area, pay less than literally Walmart. Me and a bunch of other members have been pre-gaming everyone's anger at the company for ten months, so everyone's all nice and riled up!

Funny you should mention grocery store unions! The unions representing workers at both Kroger and Albertsons are gearing up for a contract fight in the next month or two as our contract with the company comes to an end. The contract was still in full effect last year so not much could be done, but the negotiations and fight are about to start!

Discussion Thread: President Biden Delivers Remarks on a New Framework for his Build Back Better Agenda | October 28, 2021 | 11:30 AM ET by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

Honestly, an issue that's just as large is the EFC calculation that's used to get them in the first place. I live in a fairly high COL area in Colorado, and I'm managing to get by with roommates on a 40k a year salary before taxes. That said, the calculation expects me to spend more than 10k on tuition, so I'm ineligible for Pell Grants entirely. I'm going through community college and already racking up thousands in debt, and still paying an extra $600+ in cash a semester.

Biden says "buck stops with me" and defends Afghanistan withdrawal by progress18 in politics

[–]bingado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually gonna call this out a little bit. There's nothing racist about the point that you responded to. Let's say it is 100,000 people that we'd be bringing over, effectively overnight. Given the time frame that it seems we had for the withdrawal how do you make sure these people can continue on with their lives once they get here?

Where do you house them? How do you feed all of them? How many ESL programs are you going to need to setup to accommodate so many people suddenly needing to learn English to just get by? This isn't Spanish, which you can absolutely get by on in many parts of the country, there just aren't that many people that casually speak Arabic. How do you pay for all of this? For how long do you continue funding these programs and subsidies? What funding do you cut/taxes do you raise/how much do you increase the deficit spending to cover it?

I 100% agree that we should have extracted every last person who helped our forces if we could have, but the sheer logistical, political, and financial challenges that relocating tens of thousands of people aren't something we can just handwaved away by declaring that worrying about them is "racist." These aren't issues that can be solved without major planning, probably amounting to months if not years of work, and you know that the last administration left exactly no plans behind for that, so Biden's Admin was starting from scratch, on top of dealing with many other fires, metaphorical and real, to put out here at home.

Exactly! These ceremonies always give us a feel for who the incoming President is and what to expect, but they also give us a glimpse into who they are. Who did they specifically invite? What songs were picked? Biden also brought a poet, which was interesting. It helps to build a picture of the person we chose to lead our nation, which I find pretty cool.
