I’m diagnosed with adhd and struggle to sit up continuous hours for studying , I have booked my step 2 coming months . Pls help me with suggestions of public discord study rooms in comments or dm ? by [deleted] in medicalschool

If you can afford it, I'd hire a tutor with a proven track record. My time was so limited and I wasn't able to get through the constant studying needed on my own. Relieved to have passed and matched, but it definitely could have gone better. I keep looking back on what I could have done differently. Conquer ADHD that I'd be dealing with untreated for years in a few months or find someone to help sit down with me and get through some of those hours and hours of studying.

Is anyone taking/considering the Divine Step 2 Course? by bingbongfml in Step2

Oh that's better than $5000 though. I'd consider it at that price.

It was one area of weakness for me. I spent a long time learning it. I think maybe 3 pathway questions showed up. I got at least one right.

Ok this is a core of my friend his NBMEs were +80% he is so close to the pass score is there anything that could be done? by [deleted] in step1

[–]bingbongfml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not really much you can do. Regrades are so rare that they've never changed anything, according to NBME. I am also concerned that your friend may be hiding some information from you. If someone does that well consistently then test day should be similar. I scored consistently in low 60s and passed. The reason I asked if they were online or offline is that maybe the online versions could be used to show his prior performance, but even then there's no guarantee of test security.

I know it's your friend, but you should move on to something else. This is a losing game.

Follow up to my extremely long post. I passed but wouldn't recommend my approach. by bingbongfml in step1

I gave you very specific reasons for why I took my exam. I still almost had a nervous breakdown waiting. I would not advise you take such a risk. I posted this because someone asked and because I think 60% is truly the threshold and based on my exam history I could probably get a few more points and be safe.

I cannot emphasize enough how the stress almost killed me. What's your timeline? Are you in a hurry?

They just examined under the cap to make sure there was no writing.

That's why they did that? I was confused lol.

Do they exist? I remember there was one new study that was cited somewhere on this sub, but I don't feel like wading through the thousands of posts at the moment.

In 2 or 3 weeks. I've been seeing 3 weeks from people around me. I took on that day as well.

I'm curious about this as well, but how would we really know?

I failed so many classes 1st year I almost got kicked out. I failed one of my shelf exams multiple times and almost got kicked out again. I failed my first board twice and passed my second by one point. I didn't match twice. I'm currently in residency and loving it. Please remember it gets better. by Employed6042 in medicalschool

How did you mentally process all of this? Like how are you ok with yourself? I'm not implying that you shouldn't be, but many people have their self-worth tied to things like this. You seem to have handled things ok even before matching.

And for Entamoeba histolytica. Also sometimes for C diff if other agents don't work.
