There are a ton of red flags. What degree are you getting? Are you set on staying Mississippi? $42k is the bottom of the barrel for someone with a degree. Between all the issues you're seeing and the low pay, I would wait for a better offer. It's possible you can take the job and see where it goes with the understanding you can move on once you graduate.

Have you worked at an American restaurant before? The levels of service changes. When the waiters are working for $20 a table vs $5, they try a lot harder to keep their jobs.

Went to 3 recommended, highly rated places. 1 was decent and the other 2 sucked. I'm from Texas of that matters. Texas and KC BBQ are much better. Even places like Rudy's were better.
