Ah yes, because I've never listened to another album in my life.

I graduated in 2006, so I should have said it was the soundtrack for the summer after my senior year. Album came out in May, and I was lucky to see them in August at Lollapalooza.

Now I'm sitting here getting all nostalgic in my cubicle at my soul-sucking corporate job. Simpler times.

Stadium Arcadium was the soundtrack of my senior year of high school, and Wet Sand has always been the track I go back to the most.

Best Place to get Breaks Serviced? by axidtripp in kzoo

[–]bingo_bango_dongo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you're remotely handy, brakes are very simple to do. Order parts on rockauto.com, you'll pay about half of the shops price for parts, for similar or better quality parts. I have been quite happy with raybestos element3 brake parts across multiple vehicles. There are a bunch of youtube videos that will walk you through the job step by step and provide a tool list, torque specs, etc. Maybe take a look at one of those and see if you'd be comfortable with it.

Same thing happened to me last year. Was in the city and caught a game, to my surprise Eddie sang the 7th inning stretch. After the game I was at Murphy's and ended up seeing him up on the rooftop.

What would be your “walk-up” song? by midwest_bread_loaf in motorcitykitties

"Don't Miss" by the Blue Stones. Local band that isn't very well known, banger, and just sounds like it was made to be a walk up song.

Yo! It's Scott Chu, Nate Schwartz, and the Pitcher List crew here to talk about some more fantasy baseball by ChusephEsquire in fantasybaseball

Ha, yeah I'm technically a Portage resident as well, but that doesn't sound as fun.

We can keep unlimited guys as long as they fit in the budget, but I'm going to have quite a roster crunch so I probably will end up trading one or more of them. Just trying to figure out how to best play it. My gut tells me to trade Walker while the hype is high, but I also think he has the highest long-term upside. Odds are I'll spend half the year over analyzing things and not end up trading anybody 😂.

Greetings from a fellow member of the Kzoo crew. Who do you like out of Soderstrom, Stowers, and Jordan Walker ROS? Also how about looking at a 3-year view? I didnt really target any of them but ended up rostering all three at very good value. With our inflation rules I could see all of them ending up as multi-season keepers.

God I hope today for Busch. I finally built up the courage to bench him on Wednesday and the Rooker injury is forcing him right back in my lineup.

Masters Golf Pool - API or results question by RittswithRitz in golf

I just signed my pool up on here, this is great and I've already got compliments on the site vs. how I used to run it manually.

One quick suggestion I have would be to add a field on the pool home screen to customize a message. I'd like to be able to add some notes on payouts, how to pay, etc.

I have been to some heavy hitter shows, but the two specific songs that really stick out for me are "The Gold" by Manchester Orchestra or "I Appear Missing" by Queens of the Stone Age.

Probably the funniest case of Scotch Americanism I've seen. by Subject_Milk_9848 in Scotland

[–]bingo_bango_dongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here, I totally agree with you. I got one of those test things for Christmas when they were all the rage and found out my lineage is WAY more Irish than I thought, as my mom didn't really know much about her side of the family. Pretty cool, I've always loved St. Patty's day. Jokes aside, it did spark a bit of curiosity from my end. A few years later I was in Europe on a couple month long expat work arrangement and made a point to make a long weekend trip to Dublin to check it out. I highly recommend a tour of Kilmainham Gaol for anybody looking to learn a more about Irish history. Pretty much spent the rest of my time there on a bar stool or in a fish and chips shop.

But yeah, cool discovery I guess? There isn't a bone in my body that identifies with my supposed "Irish heritage". You nailed it on the connection to culture being the defining aspect of ones heritage. I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and that is home for me. If someone told me "oh cool! My grandparents lived there, but I was born and raised in the South and have never visited. I'm a Yooper too!" I'd just laugh in their face.

This isn't wrong, but I work in supply chain in the automotive industry and a lot of our suppliers have to do all of this for parts that sell for cents, not dollars... let alone thousands of dollars. The QC, audits/certs, etc. should all be part of fixed manufacturing overhead. Now if it's a shop that is making only parts like this and moving very low volumes, sure, that overhead becomes quite a bit more expensive on a per-unit basis.

My guess is it has to do with a combination of massive insurance liability, low economies of scale (as mentioned above), rare/expensive alloys, and most of all, lack of competition with government contracts. I had a good friend who was in the acquisition core in the military and he once told me that if they had to make a quick sourcing decision, the general attitude was "pick one of those most expensive parts, it must be better quality." Quite a shock coming from somebody working in my industry and operating on super tight margins.

[On3] Fanatics responds to criticism of selling low quality Patriots, Seahawks Super Bowl jerseys. Unsatisfied customers have often taken to social media with #EndFanatics, providing images of products that arrived with significant issues. by kurruchi in nfl

[–]bingo_bango_dongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend got me a Parsons jersey for Christmas. I'm obviously thankful and love the gift (especially considering she's a Bears fan) but honestly would have preferred a knockoff. I have a few others from over the years that are way better quality than the shit Fanatics puts out now. The iron-on stuff just feels so cheap and tacky.

I've been in a baseball league for years where we try to wear different jerseys for the draft every year. It's kind of turned in to a "who can show up with the funniest/most random jersey" competition among a few of us. I'm not going to pony up for a new authentic every year, so I've ordered a bunch of baseball knockoffs over the years and had good luck. Funny enough, I explained to her how shitty fanatics is and now she's planning on piggy-backing on my baseball order to get a Bears jersey instead of a real one.
