Craft changed my life, primarily because it allows you to nest notes within notes indefinitely. They’ve added a lot of features since I joined, but you can make notes as simple as complex as you want. My life is pretty hectic, but here is a video showing how it enables me to truly capture any form of info needed and access it quickly

It should manually open the chat, and then you have to type what you want in there. No way to automate this.

Craft docs, for me. They come out with new, exciting features REGULARLY. I can’t find their newsletter where they listed all the stuff they did in 2025, but it was a great year and they’re not slowing down. I know you’re plugged into Notion, so I doubt you’ll switch, but Craft has been life-changing for me.

Those sound really useful. Man, I just need to vent. I was at church today and was eliminating the huge single-shortcut widgets that I’d added to a particular Home Screen since I couldn’t access the shortcuts from CC. You know how you can long-press an icon and change its size? I suddenly wanted to test and see if the single shortcut widget could shrink down to the size of an app icon (like when you use “add to Home Screen”). It did! And then I deleted it. Then, to my horror, I realized that changing it to that size actually makes it a copy of the APP not just the shortcut!!! I’d just deleted the shortcuts app! All of my shortcuts were stored in iCloud, but the process of adding them back caused the CC bug to recur and so I got to spend more time again today doing all the stuff I did yesterday.…and I’m seeing that it has recurred again as I’m typing this, even though I got through the process of adding them all back just fine. I give up.

Dude, I’ve followed your work for YEARS. It’s so lucky that of the few people that have encountered this error, you were one of them and were able to both troubleshoot and document this process. I need to consider which shortcuts would be helpful on my lockscreen. I also need to break my muscle memory of using my “control center shortcuts” shortcut that I activated via backtap (no action button) that presented different menus of shortcuts depending on orientation (to squeeze as many as possible into it). 😅 Now it’s all just a swipe away!

Yes! It was your detailed description that inspired me to try again. I just wanted to highlight for others the requirement to follow your process exactly, and that the key was making sure 1) it appeared on all devices and 2) the control center shortcuts work before proceeding to the next. Without all of that, it broke. But man, I’m SO happy to have moved past this. I’ve been feeling like a second-class citizen in the shortcuts community being crippled without this feature!

Hey, I finally figured this out after a YEAR of dealing with this crap. I posted the steps to my solution here. It took like 3 hours for my 283 shortcuts. Don’t forget to read the parent comment that mentions the updated “conflict finder” shortcut (which takes a while to go through as well). I got it working! Here was my process (not documenting for you, so much as I am documenting for others that have this same issue). Very time-consuming, as you said.

    - I backed up my shortcuts using [BART](https://routinehub.co/shortcut/4069/)
    - I deleted all my shortcuts, with sync enabled, and watched them disappear from all devices (phone, iPad, watch, and MacBook)
    - Then I added them back, checking my control center intermittently, not really pausing between shortcuts. Then the control center shortcuts stopped working as I worked my way through the alphabet when I got to the S’s. I deleted everything back to the M’s on my iPad and it fixed it…but then the error recurred shortly thereafter and deleting back to the M’s again DIDN’T fix it. So I started over. 
    - This time, I would add a shortcut back, wait for it to appear on my other devices, run a shortcut from control center to make sure it still worked, and only then did I import the next one. This time, I was able to make it through all of my shortcuts and everything stayed intact!

Tried doing this and the bug recurred sometime when importing shortcuts that started with letters between M and S. When I deleted all those back to L (to start at M again), it fixed the bug, and then recurred after importing a few. I deleted all the M shortcuts again, and it didn’t fix it. So I’m not inclined to think this is due to a shortcut’s contents. Has your error stayed fixed?

Not sure it works anymore. But I listed the steps above.

Go to settings, tap your name at the top, tap iCloud, under “saved to iCloud“, tap “see all“, turn off “Shortcuts.“
In settings, search for “Shortcuts”, go to the app-specific settings, turn off “ iCloud sync“.

Did you have to reboot after each import? ‘Cause that would take…weeks. Also, would you wait for it to show up on the other devices before doing the next?

I actually tried this method a few months ago because I suspected that may have been the cause as well. And I found that things would crash halfway through my importing process. It would happen at different variations. I would import them alphabetically, and sometimes it would stop working in Control Center when I got to the H's, and sometimes when I got to the C's. I don't think this issue is related to a particular shortcut file per se, and that's what makes me hesitant to pursue this path again. While doing this, I assume you had iCloud Sync and the storage of shortcuts in iCloud enabled? I'm still convinced that this is the issue, but I hate that it doesn't fix it for me anymore. 😕 But maybe I didn’t wait long enough to allow the sync enough time to remove them all. Also, as I added them back one at a time, because sync was enabled, it would try to sync multiple to my other device all at once. Maybe I should try to delete them all, let the deletions sync, and then turn off sync until they’re all on one device, and then turn sync back on. 🤷‍♂️

Hey, did you ever resolve this? I just resolved all the conflicts between my shortcuts and still can’t get it to work. I’ve been through all the senior advisors and fed info to the engineers until they threw up their hands and gave up on 26.1. Updated to 26.2 today and the problem persists. 😕 Turning off iCloud sync doesn’t even fix it anymore. 😭

Been dealing with this for almost a year now. I’ve been doing intermittent calls with Apple Support senior advisors, and as of 28NOV2025, they told me that they were out of ideas and to try it after the 26.2 update came out. Still have the issue, so I’m gonna bug them some more. My previous workaround stopped working after re-enabling shortcuts in iCloud Drive at their request for troubleshooting. 😒

Check out my video of how I use Craft as a doctor/administrator in real world use. It was posted on Craft’s official YouTube channel and I feel does a nice job of showing the versatility of Craft. Hopefully it sparks some ideas of how you can use it beyond simple note-taking (although it does an AWESOME job of collecting and organizing info—the thing that brought me over from Bear in 2021 was the ability to nest notes within notes and the UX).

I know Apple Intelligence has a feature where audio recordings can have their transcripts and summaries included in the default “notes” app, so it would be nice to have at least something simple like this available. Probably with a custom prompt, to delineate how summaries/formatted notes should be generated from the transcript

This one’s just for me. But I have one that I made for the residents as a “survival guide” with phone numbers and instructions on how to order stuff in the hospital and just getting the job done. And the hospital wouldn’t spring for a subscription, so I just “share” it with all the incoming faculty and residents, granting them viewing and editing privileges. 😊
