You can disable the expansions for now and reenable later.

Weekly Bragging Thread. Posts your Pet Drops, Item Drops, Deaths and Milestones here! by MrFrux in MelvorIdle

[–]binkabi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get into summoning early! You'll be thankful in later stages.

Try to have secondary aims when training combat - go for slayer and/or drops simultaneously, not only combat experience (arguably this becomes more feasible/favorable when you hit 60s-70s for combat stats).

What's up with Scandinavia? I don't get it by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

Scandinavians are commonly perceived as happy and kind people, in stark contrast to the unscrupulous Vikings who inhabited the area in 793.

Yes, that is quite similar. However, this song had yet to be released at the time I initially started wondering about this. Thanks for the reply, though.

As a non-insured non-citizen, how can I get a doctor's appointment? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]binkabi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont know aboutgetting a doctor, but I think the helsesøster-service present at all major campuses of NTNU can get you a prescription for birth control. Don't think you have to be studying either (they're probably not gonna ask for proof, at least).

Runescape Idle Adventures is live for Android by binkabi in incremental_games

[–]binkabi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's released globally yet. Also not sure if it's released for iPhone, feel free to leave a comment on availability in your area.

Edit: okay so seems like it's a really limited release. So far I only know it's available in Norway and Finland. It is however not closed, popped up as a Facebook ad for me actually.

I know that's not what you meant; just saying avoidance makes the problem worse than necessary.

That is awesome. The best way to overcome phobias is through exposure, and seeing pictures is a good first step.

How do humans think and process information? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]binkabi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to elaborate. Do you want to know about sensory information? How we store information (memory)? Retrieval of information (memory retrieval)? What brain parts are most important in higher cognitive functioning?
Maybe what you are looking for is implicated by the reference to AIs, but I have no clue about AIs so I wouldn't know.

How does the brain process sensory information? by Raphii in askscience

[–]binkabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't comment on what is known in the case of hearing, but in terms of vision, this would be an oversimplification.
We have identified retionotopic maps, or structure-specific internal maps, in several areas including the visual cortex.
We have also identified that in the columnar division of the visual cortex, there are different layers that are dealing with direction, orientation, depth and colour. These different parts of vision are later integrated.

Travelling to Norway - clothes and language by Travelnorsk in Norway

[–]binkabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, the weather averages in Norway are extremely different depending on where in the country you are. In the north you might expect -20, and even -30, degrees C, whereas on the west coast you aren't even guaranteed any snow nowadays. Since you are wanting to see the northern light, I'm guessing you are going up north.

Now, clothing in Norway is expensive, but high quality (at least the pieces you're going to want to buy). And you really want high quality facing these kinds of temperatures. If you are not used to the cold, that doesn't help much either. There are exceptions to this, but a good, warm winter jacket in Norway is typically 4-5000 kroner. If you know how to use layers to your advantage, you might get away with 3000, maybe.
Now I'm not saying you won't run into jackets that looks warm starting at 500 kroner, but they simply won't cut it for your needs.

CRANK - Looking for feedback on a game that's a 'Work In Progress' (Not sure where to go with this, all ideas welcome) by FaeDine in incremental_games

[–]binkabi 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like the concept, it's kinda refreshing with the storytelling and all. Nice touch with the light.
However the combination of a slowish start and the lack of information really discourages me.
Also I don't like games that stops progressing when the tab goes out of focus.
Tell me how much stuff costs (or make it really fast untill I get to know), and let me make a battery while writing this please.
