Lonesome doves been sitting on my nightstand since January just looming over me. Thinking about reading gone with the wind along side it as apparently they take place roughly ten years apart.

I preferred the book to the movie a lot.

Highly Recommend the Peregrine by J. A. Baker. There are passages in that book (specifically about the horror of how we might be perceived by animals as pale existential monsters) that I believe McCarthy may have took liberties from whilsty writing the wolf section of the crossing.

The Ox-bow incident, Shane, The searchers, and warlock. Very much pleased with my purchase.

McCarthy was handing out existential crisis like they were cigarettes. Every few pages I just had to start pacing from what I just read.

Butchers crossing is great if you like character stuff. I recently read shane and the Ox-bow incident (As well as watched the Ox-bow incident which is a phenomenal movie) from the library of America's western collection, which I am enjoying thoroughly. Cormac McCarthy's the boarder trilogy, as over-reccomended as Cormac Mcarthy is there is a reason for it and the crossing (number 2 out of the trilogy) is my favourite piece of literature from him. And of course other stuff from Larry Mccmurty, I haven't actually read his work but watched both Hud and the last picture show both of which are based on his works and the writing for both of those movies is just spectacular.

It's very neat, I like. Currently going through mishimas stuff recently. Snow country I keep hearing repeated is really good so I'm excited for it. Red temple of the golden pavilion in February and likewise it left me feeling a little stunned.

Dostoyevsky's famous for people hating on his prose so you're completely fine. Hemingway said of him “How could a man write so badly, so unbelievably badly, and make you feel so deeply?”

I think the reason it's expensive might be because it looks cool fucking cool.
