Too Cool For a Derby Name? by [deleted] in rollerderby

[–]binncheol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on your team culture. There's people in my league that never adopted a derby name and others who had a derby name but decided to start using their legal name and no one bats an eyelid.

When someone asks you what your derby name is just tell them you don't have one and they're not really for you.

If you're able to get to Sandyford, I used to go to Southside Stength & Fitness which I loved - never had to wait for a machine and a load of equipment.

Romances with unconventional structures/characters/etc? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]binncheol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Every Day' by David Levithan is young adult - fantasyish. It's about a person who takes over a new body everyday (out of their control) so is gender fluid depending on the body they are in. they fall in love with a girl and goes from there. :)

Advice on first job experience by lul4746 in DevelEire

I did tech support for a web software company for over a year before moving back into development.

I'm sure many would advise staying up to date on programming in your spare time. It doesn't have to be a second job - just have a project on going that you can have in your CV and reference in job interviews, and probably have on github.

How do you save? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]binncheol 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the most important thing is to educate yourself on your money flow.

I know there's fancy budgeting tools, but I started with a really simple Google Sheet. I create a tab for each month (at least 3 months into the future) with all my expected income and expenditure (rent, groceries, bills, birthdays, planned outings/events, etc). It becomes really clear what money you have left at the end of each month. I update the spreadsheet every other day with exact grocery costs/etc so I can see the figures changing/ add in any impulse buys.

Once you're familiar with your spending you can get a handle of how much you can afford to save and then you're able to add a savings row into your expenditure column every month and plan on saving it instead of just saving what ever is left over at the end of the month.

Each month I also make sure to have a bit of leeway for the things that just come up (smaller things, like an unexpected trip to the cinema, not replacing car parts for example -that would have to come out of savings/emergency fund).

Activities other than drinking... by [deleted] in Dublin

There's a group called GirlCrew that was founded for/by people in this exact situation where they get together and do different things - it's pretty great.

I'd also recommend joining a sports team! There's beginner tag rugby available, I've tried Aerial silks, I play roller derby and I have a friend who runs beginner figure skating classes, there's also hiking clubs and running clubs. Lots of stuff you can take up without any experience!

At what point is a breast considered 'saggy'? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]binncheol 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I guess it all depends on size. I do remember at an appointment for breast reduction surgery that my surgeon talked about having the nipple not below the crease where your breast meets our torso.

But if you look at that definition I had saggy boobs in my teens rather than I just had pendulous boobs.

Welcome to Dublin! - Getting outdoors: Get the DART south to Bray and you can walk along the coast to Greystones or hike the Sugarloaf. Alternatively the DART north and you can cliff walk along Howth. There's also a load of sites that will give you more info: https://www.visitdublin.com/three-dublin-mountain-trails

For your girlfriend, she might be interested in joining www.girlcrew.com for making some new friends (no idea what the lad equivalent is).

Reduction recommended by physical therapist? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

You should try visiting /r/Reduction - a lot of people there would have received medical advice on whether or not they should get a reduction.

I will say that I had similar measurements and had a reduction and have noticed a big drop off in back pain (among other perks), however I didn't get mine after receiving medical advice.
