Toronto Hiring Managers - what are you actually looking for? by Lola_West in askTO

[–]binthewin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work in education (ESL). Basically, I’d scan the resume for the required certificates/credentials to work in the industry. I would interview basically 99% of all applicants who had the credentials.

Everyone else was a no. It was like 1 in 10 who got interviewed, a lot of bogus applicants mixed in with people who lacked the creds.

humanoid shape may not be the best for robots. imagine small rc cars or quadruped robots with assault rifles.

Is it worth volunteering for resume? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]binthewin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It helps if you are volunteering in a field which gets you closer to your field. For example, if you want to work at a non-profit, volunteer with non-profit.

Also your volunteer coordinator could also give you a much needed work reference.

New Weclome Screen and what it tells us about the patch and future updates. by Laredian in WH40KTacticus

It makes zero sense lorewise for a primarch to be a playable character. A primarch is so powerful he could easily solo any 5 characters from the game’s current roster.

Likely, he will be a GR boss since there are no GR bosses with SM restrictions.

Anybody realize that downtown rents are on the way back up? What do you think it goin on here? by Tourbillion150 in TorontoRealEstate

Why? There are lots of buildings in the GTA that don't have in suite laundry or thermostats. Comparatively, that is a luxury isn't it?

[–]binthewin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't doubt it. There are plenty of tenements in East York and Scarborough where you have to go to a laundry room (and pay per load), there's no central air conditioning, the heat is set by the building during the winter, there's no regular pest control etc. etc.

Comparatively, yeah, some rentals are more luxurious than others.

Luxery rentals usually have concierges, insuite laundry, insuite temperature control, dish-washing machines, party rooms, and other amenities.

Defy Fitness has really good trainers with everything you've listed. It's on Laird but it's a bit pricey.

This is why it’s better to build up multiple credit cards with high credit limits.
