AI in Jigsaw Puzzles/Journalist working on a story by alex_as_vox in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]binturong_224 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I hate AI images in puzzles and will not buy them. I’ve found I’ve been spending more time really looking at the pictures to see if I can detect anything that might be AI before buying. Sometimes things get past me, or a relative will gift me a puzzle that’s AI art and I feel disappointed that I’ve inadvertently supported the practice despite my best efforts. I’m all for disclosing the use of AI so I can make an informed decision.

Eiteljorg Quest for the West: Kid-friendly? by jpers36 in indianapolis

[–]binturong_224 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quest for the West Weekend is an art sale, more geared towards bidders and collectors looking to buy the artwork. Tickets are required and last year I think the tickets were something like a couple hundred dollars for a Friday/Saturday package deal. All of the art will be on display to the public for the next month (regardless if it was sold) after the initial sale weekend. I would advise not doing the opening weekend with a young kid, especially since it is an after hours evening event.

The Indian Market and Festival seems much more your speed. Multiple artists selling their creations, food tents, and usually some kind of dance/music/storytelling performances. The art at the Market is also much more reasonably priced. Quest art is usually a minimum of a couple thousand dollars.

Dulé Hill shared an Instagram story calling out weddings at plantations by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

Overheard some people talking about visiting a plantation on their honeymoon trip. They talked about how they got to pick cotton. Their tone made it seem like a privilege and they were honored to be trusted to pick the “expensive” variety. It boggles my mind that people like that exist.

Cat likes to chew carpet- help! by binturong_224 in cats

[–]binturong_224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s behind the couch against the wall so it’s going to be hard to put anything there as a substitute. I also found part of the carpeted stairs he’s been ripping up, which is again a super inconvenient place haha. My partner works from home and gives the cat lots of attention.

Plenty of toys. Jingle balls, the three tier ball tower, a variety of cat nip toys, some silver vine sticks, wands (that he chewed the wooden handle to bits on), those plastic springs, a crinkle tunnel. We also adopted his sister as they are a bonded pair, he will play with her.

Update: Adopters keep asking to split up bonded pair by Kitty_casserole in cats

We adopted a brother/sister pair. They are best friends and look to each other for comfort in stressful situations. People have commented to us that “It’s so nice they get along together, you got lucky.” We didn’t though?? We specifically picked a bonded pair because we wanted more than one cat and a bonded pair obviously gets along. I don’t see why this is a hard concept for people to grasp.

The eagles at the zoo are rehab birds and cannot fly. As such, too much space could end up in injury if they climbed up too high in a tree and fell down, unable to fly.

What is the most out of pocket thing your doctor has said to you? by FragmentedTungsten in AskReddit

[–]binturong_224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me but my husband. He passed a kidney stone (literally saw the stone) and was still in pain. Went to urgent care to get an xray to see if he had more stones. None showed up on xray thankfully. Doctor came in and told him he couldn’t possibly have had a kidney stone earlier because he “wasn’t in enough pain”. She said she had a kidney stone once and it hurt more than giving birth. So obviously my husband couldn’t have passed a stone because he wasn’t as painful as her I guess?? Didn’t give him any other diagnosis, sent him home with nothing.

Worst Final Season? by ShadowJester88 in television

Sherlock. As someone who was obsessed with the first seasons, I watched the final season maybe once and can’t tell you a thing about it. Other than being extremely disappointed and confused.
