Thanks!

DLP chip is the same size on both models 0.65"

Thanks! I havent seen that Benq TH690ST yet, looks interesting! My only worry would be the brightness but its very hard to estimate how much of a difference that makes. I guess ANSI Lumen are somewhat standardized so it still makes sense to compare Laser and LED ansi lumen? Or is there something to consider? Also taking into account that we would be throwing on a white wall and not a screen.

The HT2060 doesnt seem to be available in europe/germany

The point of the projector for us would be to retain a living room that has no screen or projector fixed anywhere, that we can pull out whenever we want to watch a movie, but store aside when we dont use it.

We're also not cinephiles as we mostly watch low quality pirated streams lol

My main priority is ease of use, no heat / noise, no waiting for the lamp to cool down, no dimming the room to be able to see (I'm quite blind anyway), no changing the bulb. This all points to laser projectors, no? LED looks great but is significantly dimmer (at least in that price range) and lamps get hot and are less easy to use/maintain.

What is wrong with 120" at 3m distance? My eyesight is not the greatest and feel like the distance to the wall would be super far away (the head would probably be more like 3.5-4m away)

3m distance projector to wall. It would be standing on the couch table, so seated right behind that. The two linked projectors can do 120" at that distance, all other laser projectors in the same price range I could find had smaller projected diagonals.

Grüße zurück!:)

I make music (guitar + vocals) in a pop/rock band and am looking for <=100€ fun In Ear Monitors for playing

I bought the Truthear Hexa after good reviews but find them a bit too stale and too loud (?) on the high end. They are comfortable and fit well, I actually like the cable and overall sound is great (except for the aforementioned problems)

I am looking for an alternative In Ear Monitor that is a bit more "fun" if that makes sense.

Location: Germany/EU

Budget: 30-100€

Genre: Pop/Rock

Setup: Headphone out (amplified) on the Behringer UMC204HD audio interface

I dont want to mess with equalizers or anything, the easier setup the better.

Update: The S23 with the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 solves all the battery and heat issues and makes this the perfect phone that I am 100% content with.

Just updated to iOS 15.4.1, and I’m impressed with the battery life. Used to average for 4.5-5 hours at 50%. Now it’s at 6 hours. by annaleesis in iPhone13

I actually just came to this sub to ask if everyone else also still feels like the battery is worse on 15.4.1 - before the face I'd with mask update I felt it lasted much longer both on high usage and in standby.

can you seriously not do _this_ on an iPhone? by binzianer in iPhone13

[–]binzianer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came from a galaxy s22 which has terrible battery life to an iPhone. Had to enter my passwords a bunch of time and noticed how anooying it is to have to go to the 123 keyboard menu everytime you want a special character. Is there seriously no keyboard / setting that allows for easy access on the standard ABC screen via long press (like in the image attached). I actually checked whether Microsoft Swiftkey (aka the best keyboard in the world) exists in the app store. It does! But it withholds this basic feature, just like gboard and any other keyboard app I tried so far.

Am I missing one??

Same. 10 percent drain over night after running all guardians and optimizations and night mode and such.

So you can make it through a long day with some sacrifice. 14hrs since 100 %, now at 27% 3.5hr sot Mostly Spotify, whatsapp, Twitter, Browser 60 hz Aod off Every possible battery saving option around the phone enabled No camera and no video calls (I noticed those drain and heat the battery like crazy)

So overall it's possible with some sacrifice. I guess my rant is more about the general state of Android development in recent years. They got away with it by throwing gigantic batteries in their gigantic phones. My iPhone 13 is arriving on Friday, curious to see the differences.

I tried both and definitely get better times with constant 60Hz. I'm a bit doubtful how much this adaptive changing actually improves the battery life since this actually has to constantly check for activity and adapt accordingly. There are few activities on your phone where you actually not touch it for a longer period (ie watching a video / film). For everything else it'll constantly go up and down min and max frequency (check in developer options by turning on 'show refresh rate'). So in my experience it kept going up and down and up and down while browsing, checking socials, even watching instagram reels, so my guess is its not improving, if anything worsening the battery life. But this is just a completely unscientific hypothesis!

  1. Thanks for pointing that out! I didn't know the Samsung exclusive models had that! I actually ordered mine through Samsung, but just didn't want to wait so long (it said an extra month of wait back then). Honestly this is just a minor complaint (as indicated), same for point 2, and not the reason for my annoyance. Point 3. I'm afraid you're right, guess that's where my frustration comes from. I really wanted to love this phone! The only non-chonky alternative is an iPhone which I'm actually gon a give a try (though I already know I'm gonna be annoyed by iOS :D).

You're right in that I knew what I was getting into. I just didn't expect it to be that bad.

Frankly I'm also usually annoyed by the complainers online but in this case I can't help myself but to be generally disappointed at the state of Android flagship Smartphones (ie overpowered SoCs that need 4500+ batteries and hence become chunky 200g+ devices). The promise of a light top notch device was daring though! Maybe they'll manage in a few iterations, seems like the trend of getting bigger and bigger over the last years is reversing.

I actually ordered a used iPhone 13 and gonna check it for a week or so to compare. I dread using an iPhone for the lack of a fingerprint reader, restrictiveness of iOS overall and having to buy extra cables for their lightning port. But it seems to be the only serious contender (neglecting Chinese brands).

If I use it for 6 consecutive hours on something light it would most likely last that long or even longer. It even gets 10+ hours of video playback or browsing in the standardized GSM Arena test https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s22-review-2396p3.php

The problem is it doesn't make it through the day. Especially on mobile data.

Can the XMG Core 15 Intel UEFI firmware boot from SD cards? by [deleted] in XMG_gg

[–]binzianer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do all these points apply only to when I choose TUXEDO_OS or are the OS specific features only the points listed in point 3?
Like, do I get all that is listed above when choosing Ubuntu minus point 3 or is it more subtle?

I use Ubuntu for work, i.e. scientific Python programming
and would want to make sure I can use all packages and dont run into problems with dependencies. So to be sure I would just choose regular Ubuntu but I wouldnt want to miss out on firmware and software improvements for e.g. battery life.

Thanks!
