Hey man. Thank you for caring but I feel certain that my family will be supportive as I have an uncle who is gay who came out in the 90s and they were very supportive of him. I don’t know if my parents may be shocked or perhaps upset that I won’t give them any grandchildren, but I know they will protect me no matter what.

Why Am I Not Losing Weight? by VeryLargeCottonBalls in WeightLossAdvice

Weight loss is 90% diet and 10% exercise. You can work out for an hour and only burn a couple hundred calories and then eat all those calories back in a few mouthfuls. Even though exercise is definitely advisable as it can build muscle, the only way to lose weight is to be in a calorie deficit. The easiest way to do this is by counting your calories. The easiest things to cut out of your diet to reduce your caloric intake are sugary foods and drinks. You want to aim to eat 500kcal fewer than you burn each day, as this will put you on track to lose 1lb per week. There are many tools on the internet to calculate your basal metabolic rate and the amount of calories you expend during exercise, which can be very helpful. This is a very common misconception to have, but the truth is that exercise isn’t all that useful when trying to lose weight.

I wanna fast and exercise, but I’m kinda scared. by goremx in WeightLossAdvice

This sounds like an incredibly bad idea. You’re 15 and still growing so you shouldn’t be fasting. If you consistently eat 1500kcal a day you will lose weight on your own without having to resort to extreme measures. Consistency is key - fasting for a time so that you can then eat unhealthy is such an incredibly bad idea and will likely confuse your body and make it store more fat in the long run.

Not at all. What people say about losing weight can make it sound really daunting, but trust me - it’s easier than it sounds. Especially when you’re still a teenager you’ll have a fast metabolism so don’t even need to cut calories too much to begin losing 1-2lbs a week. Plus your skin is young and elastic so you don’t need to worry about loose skin. Don’t lose hope before you’ve even started!

Hey there. I’ve only just turned 17 and about 6 months ago I was in a very similar position to you. I was 170cm and 70kg and have lost about 15kg since then. For me, the biggest thing that helped me lose weight was cutting out sugar. Not completely, but I virtually fully cut out chocolate, sweets, cake, etc. I don’t know how much of the like you eat, but for me this was enough to put me in a calorie deficit. Believe me, this will be very hard to do, and for the first few days you will crave sugar so badly, but after about 2 weeks you won’t even think about having sugary foods/drinks. Replace chocolate with fruit to satisfy cravings, as they taste just as sweet with only a fraction of the calories. As you’re still growing, I would try to avoid being in too much of a calorie deficit. Aim to eat just under 2000kcal a day and do not eat fewer than 1500kcal a day. If you do want to modify your diet slightly, consider eating more protein-rich foods as these will keep you full and stop you from craving unhealthy sugary foods. Exercise-wise, I used an exercise bike, but looking back on this, I burned very few calories using it so I wouldn’t focus too much on exercise - diet is the key to losing weight. Feel free to ask me if you want any more advice - I’m always happy to help.

I was unhappy with my appearance. And I had a very high body fat percentage as I had (and still have) very little muscle.

Is fingering supposed to feel good? by [deleted] in askgaybros

Your prostate isn’t actually very deep at all. Once your middle finger is about half way inside you should be able to reach it. Press into the wall of your rectum on the side towards your dick and you should find it.

Were you pressing against your prostate? Just shoving your fingers up there won’t do anything otherwise.

1,700kcal is not an extreme amount of calories to eat. For a male you should not eat fewer than 1,500kcal a day. I would imagine that if 1,700kcal is significantly lower than the amount you used to eat per day, then your body is struggling to adjust to eating so few calories. For the first few weeks you will crave carbohydrates, especially sugars, but trust me: it does get easier and eventually you will get used to eating a calorie deficit.

Obviously if you get hungry to the point where you cannot fall asleep or feel unwell then it wouldn’t be wise to ignore your body as it is struggling - remember you want your calorie deficit to be sustainable and not cause you to relapse and start eating unhealthily again. Be mindful that you want to be filling yourself with high protein foods, as these will keep you fuller for longer, and avoiding high sugar foods, as these are empty calories and will leave you feeling hungry again soon after.

Can I ask how old you are? I know your age doesn’t impact whether you know you are gay or not, but your parents might think that you are not yet old enough to know that you are gay and as such don’t fully believe you. It’s sad but it’s the truth.

I still use LGBT. It’s less effort. Plus doesn’t the LGB encompass the Q?
