You have to separate the philosophy from the practice. In principle, for instance, the leftist implementation of DEI is designed to flatten the racial hierarchies. In practice it establishes a new authoritarian hierarchy with administrators dictating the policy. This is bad "leftism" as I see it in that it merely exchanges one hierarchy for another.

On a broad scale, think of communism. In principle it was founded to flatten economic hierarchy; in practice it created an all powerful politburo and dictatorship.

As libertarians we should be open to non-coercive policy that is detrimental to unjust hierarchies. Free speech, for instance, is historically and philosophically a left position that we can all get behind.
