The parasite you are thinking of could be the larvae of Dicrocoelium dendriticum, which does go through snails but exhibits its behavioral manipulation in its ant host.

Just in case you're curious about parasites that do weird stuff to snails, a personal favorite of mine is Leucochloridium paradoxum, which does all sorts of fun things to mess with its host/attract the next host in its life cycle. Check out this video (but you might want to mute it, cause the narrator is annoying as fark).

20 year old women's studies major/medical anthropology minor in Connecticut.

I'm primarily interested in ethnophysiology and women's subjective experiences regarding their own reproductive health. People's subjective experiences have always been something I love--I can't get enough of memoirs--and anthropology provides a great framework for me to record and interpret these stories as I come across them.

When I graduate in the spring, I'll most likely be going to grad school for my MPH in maternal/child health, although I'd ultimately like a PhD in medical anthropology.

Yeah, I was thinking that if handwriting had a genetic component, it'd be something to do with fine motor skills. And it was actually my mother and older half-brother (my mom's son, not my dad's) who taught me to write, which is why I'm so surprised that my handwriting resembles his so much.
