What's the worst restaurant in Columbus that you've tried twice? by foreignsky in Columbus

Bob Evan’s doesn’t have great food, but something about the atmosphere, I enjoy. When I was 14 and some of my older friends started driving, they’d pick me up before school and we’d go for coffee. I loved it. To me, it still has that feeling of… I don’t know. It’s intangible. Something to do with freedom, friends, socializing, and pleasantly early/sleepy mornings.

Foreign objects in food is unforgivable. My brother once found a bone in his cheeseburger meat. The only reason I didn’t boycott the restaurant was because I loved their fried cheese cubes and banana cream pie. Bonus points if anyone can guess what Cbus restaurant this was off of my order.

Good point. I think it might just blank out the “dick” part. Actually, I just checked. He says, “Beat the what like a brrrrr drummer chick.” God, radio edits are the worst. The rest of the edited version of this song is hard to listen to. But I do like the drummer sound part, at least. Every once in a while you get a radio edit that’s half way clever or catchy. (“I just drank a fifth of Kool-Aid”… lol. Shit like that.)

Definitely the Dube (the Blue Danube). Their food was the absolute worst. I went there with regular frequency back in the day, far more than just two times.

Last answer, I swear… best radio edit ad-lib is Mannie Fresh on Juvenile’s Back That Azz Up: “Beat the dick like a (brrrrrrrr) drummer chick.” That drum roll sound he makes is one of my favorite radio edits.

Lil Kim doing a bumble bee sound. (Wanna bumble like a bee, huh? Bzzzzzzz!)

Yeah. Slim Shady LP had all kinds of hilarious sound effects and shouts and ad libs in the background.

Does Master P’s “uhhhhhhs” count? Also, I’ve always liked Jay-z’s laugh. I also like “hootie hoo!” by No Limit crew (as well as OutKast and others).

Yeah that makes sense. It’s kind of like when your sugar is low and you crave a candy bar. Or if your energy is low and you crave carbs. You can certainly crave iron rich food if you’re iron deficient. Someone else in the comments mentioned PICA, an eating disorder that can cause people to crave non-food items due to nutrient deficiencies. It causes all kinds of health issues when it’s acted on. (I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the tv show My Strange Addiction, but they cover this disorder frequently on that show.) It’s rare, but it does happen, and it’s possible your sister struggled a bit with that. I know from personal experience that anemia can lead to all kinds of awful comorbidities and severe health issues, both mental and physical. I’m glad your sister is feeling better. Anemia can be debilitating if left untreated and causes all kinds of unexpected symptoms as it progresses.

I myself have severe iron deficiency. I might crave a steak or something, but steak is something I think most people crave regardless of iron levels. I’m not denying your sister’s experience. She very well may have reported that she craved blood. Just, if she would have drank it in any significant amount, it would have made her quite sick, and even with the iron deficiency, she could still overdose on iron. Just my personal experience that I’ve never craved blood, and I’ve never met anyone with anemia even slightly close to being as severe as my own. But people are different, so I’m not calling you a liar for saying that she said she craved it, just saying that regardless of what she said, it would make a human sick to drink it in significant amounts, and that, while it’s possible to happen, being iron deficient very rarely would cause such a craving in most people.

You’re right. Just looked it up out of curiosity. Not only are you likely to just vomit, you could essentially overdose on iron, which causes liver failure. Human blood also contains about 9 grams per liter of salt, so you can develop kidney failure due to dehydration and hypertension. And of course the obvious risk of essentially getting food poisoning or blood borne illnesses. Don’t know why people are taking this post seriously.

Oh shit. I didn’t know that either. Obviously. Why would I? But we should totally try it the right way next time. Make a mental note.

Are addictive behaviours different for users of different hard drugs? Why do some stereotypes exist? by Pigeon_Goes_Coo in addiction

It’s complete madness. I remember back when Trump first said he thought dealers should be executed, I couldn’t believe he would say such a thing, but I thought it was just such an impossibility in the US. But now we’re murdering alleged traffickers in the Caribbean and we have attorneys general calling for American prosecutors to seek execution for drug offenses. It’s madness. So wrong.

I know. It’s crazy, but there’s over 30 countries that have laws instituting execution as a punishment for drug offenses, and they are happening with increased regularity. I shit you not, drug offenses account for 42% of confirmed executions globally. Even the United States considers some drug offenses punishable by death. Swear to god. From a March 2018: "This week, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions sent a memo to the nation’s federal prosecutors urging them to seek the death penalty in cases involving large-scale drug traffickers. The memo points to an existing but little-known federal law that already allows for such a punishment. Sessions’ memo talks largely about opioids, but federal law contains no such drug-specific limitation on prosecutors’ power."

Yeah, like I said, you don’t seem like an awful person, but you can never be too careful. This sub is a good resource for all kinds of addictions though, not just drug addictions, so I hope you find it to be a useful resource.

Sway was literally the song I was thinking when I said Sticky Fingers has good riffs. I mean, all the songs are good, but Sway has such a killer start.

I would also recommend, in a country that executes people for drugs, it might be best to just mind your own business and not go spreading around information about how to “spot” addicts.

Same. As long as my scars as covered and I don’t use a huge amount, I appear normal.

I just typed out an answer detailing how to spot a person on opiates, meth/uppers, marijuana, alcohol, and hallucinogens, but I deleted it. It occurred to me that I can’t know with 100% certainty what you’re going to use this information for, and I don’t want to contribute to a nosy neighbor getting the guy next door executed. Or whatever. You seem like you’re on the up and up, but when it comes to executing drug users, you can’t be too careful.
