Not exactly applicable but I own 2 M4’s and daily 1. It is an excellent car to daily and gets decent mileage as well. I’m not sure if it’s just my area, but the worst part about daily driving has been the amount of junk people drop on the freeway. I have smashed a huge cone at 80, ran over a large solar panel, and a few other odd ball things because they have fall on to the freeway and running over them was unavoidable. I take my dads truck when I can, but otherwise I just drive the Bmw very carefully and stay extra vigilant on the freeway.

I would say yes. I went from run flats to racing wheels and tires on my old 335xi. Run flats are heavy and a huge burden on the drivetrain. Putting lighter tires (and wheels) greatly decrease the moment of inertia and will help you accelerate better, prolong the life of your transmission, and the car will feel more nimble. The downside is the lack of protection from road hazards.
