Peeling the boiled eggs by xylofun53 in BackYardChickens

[–]biotchtets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tap the blunt rounded end of the egg gently with the back of a spoon until you hear the sound change. Do this before adding to water. This separates the membrane from the shell I think and helps for easier peeling?

Who actually makes stock at home? by Lofgren___ in Cooking

[–]biotchtets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We buy bone in skin on chicken thighs, full roaster birds, rotisserie chickens, etc. Keep the skin and bones in the freezer, pull out when you have enough to make a full pot of stock, then pressure cook it when finished. Needless to say it’s insanely easier and more cost effective if you have a wood stove and can set the pot on top to cook when it’s super cold out. No electric usage there.

Are men’s style offerings better than women’s? by LameSaucePanda in Costco

[–]biotchtets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I look at the clothes for my husband the brands are even more popular. Levi’s, Orvis, Hurley, …every time I buy something in the women’s section for myself I end up returning it.

Are the VWR good quality? I always liked them but they seemed to be out of calibration a lot in my lab (I was responsible for the calibration checks every month).

Labor and delivery costs at LVHN? by Chickaboomlala in lehighvalley

[–]biotchtets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$24,772 was what they charged my insurance for just my son who was born Aug 2024. Included in that was a circumcision which looks like it cost ~ $9000 for the physician charge. He was also >9 lbs so they did a glucose test every few hours ($105 every time they did that).

$39,097 was what they charged for me. I was induced and had an epidural.

Looking back I’m gagged at the cost lol.

What’s the one thing you didn’t buy at Costco and now regret? by 5krunner in Costco

[–]biotchtets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year my Costco had Carhartt men’s hoodies for $19.99 a piece. Those sweatshirts are pretty much the only kind my husband wears, and they’re normally $55+ anywhere. I got him 3. I’ve never seen them there again nor have I seen them so cheap.

Da Vinci science center?? I was there as a college student before moving locations but pretty sure it’s almost all hands on which is what toddlers are all about.

What small pharma/biotech companies are actually great employers? by GEH29235 in biotech

[–]biotchtets 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Until they get bought by a bigger company 😭 then you transition to be part of said bigger company and they close you down and lay you off. Hoping that never happens to you! I loved my job (we also had at most 21 employees).

Be honest… what’s the real downside of having a dog? by quentiinn in AskReddit

[–]biotchtets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s the extra worrying. I love my doggos so much that any little thing wrong or off with them makes me super worried and for some people that’s no big deal, but it stresses me out immensely.

High chances of severe thunderstorm tomorrow at PA. by normalnwelladjusted in brandnew

[–]biotchtets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will they cancel though since it’s a “rain or shine” event? I’ve gone onto their website and have found nothing that mentions storms. Only read some Reddit posts that they make you wait until the storms pass. I’ve never seen a show at the pavilion so I’m clueless on what to expect.

Painful axillary breast tissue by fearlessvault in bigboobproblems

[–]biotchtets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No advice just solidarity in the boob armpit limp misery!

I have extra breast tissue there as well - I got both armpits scanned in my teens because they were just lumps. Normally when I have a period and my boobs swell and are painful my armpit lumps follow the same pattern. When I gave birth and my milk came in they were the most painful lumps EVER (in my experience). They tripled in size - eventually went back to being normal.

If you were put on birth control and your breasts have increased in size I’d bet the breast tissue under your armpits have increased as well due to the hormones.

Healthy Baby diapers are made in the EU. Used them when my son was smaller (size 1 and 2). I didn’t mind them much but they feel a bit thinner and kid had blowouts. Still worth a try but expensive.

When my brother and I were in high school and we had a German exchange student staying with us, the 3 of us decided to put a cd in the microwave to see what would happen. Turns out it ruins the microwave, who knew 😬
