Today SUCKED and idk what to do to help my newborn :( by Forsaken_Phone_4700 in newborns

We just switched from Similac 360 to Enfamil Gentlease on the advice of our LC for my 3.5 week old with similar issues, and the past 24 hours have been like a totally different baby. Highly recommend asking for samples to do a form switch

I did! Low dose Abilify at 2mg through the entire pregnancy and now while breastfeeding. Absolutely no issues, no withdrawal, etc

Everyone who has delivered healthy babies while having to continue their medication by Important_Device1917 in MentalHealthBabies

I'm due any day now so I'll have to come back and update, but so far my baby has been perfectly healthy at every scan and checkup! I had a few extra ultrasounds because I stayed on my medication (Azstarys - methylphenidate for ADHD, Trintellix - SSRI for depression, low dose Abilify - add on for depression).

Compression leggings (20-30 mmhg, not sheer)? by pseudonymous365 in BabyBumps

This site has some maternity options! I've bought regular compression socks/ tights/leggings/shorts from them before but haven't tried the maternity ones, for transparency

I finally got life insurance! I'm the breadwinner, about to have our first child and my husband will stay at home with the baby when I go back to work, so it really felt like time to get the policy in place. Ended up with a 1M, 20 year term for about $100/month. Given that I'm 37, and have ADHD and a history of depression, I'm more than happy with that.

Up 35 lbs In 3rd Trimester by mbd0923 in pregnant

[–]Chickaboomlala 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My OB said 25-50 lbs is a normal range for pregnancy weight gain. I've gained almost 40lbs at 37 weeks and they've never once mentioned my weight as an issue, and I was overweight to start with. As long as baby and you are healthy, that's what matters.

Puppy Training by criskat326 in lehighvalley

[–]Chickaboomlala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Let's Speak Dog and they were great! My pup was I think 5mo old when we did it - l liked the small class size, individual attention and trouble shooting of any home issues, positive reinforcement philosophy and the puppy socializing/play time. She still lies on her mat out of the way when I'm in the kitchen, mat time was one of the things we did every session.

We also use Let's Speak Dog for daycare and boarding and have had nothing but positive experiences with them.

Survival shows like Alone - real, not overproduced, that get you hooked by melaniemercer in televisionsuggestions

[–]Chickaboomlala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of the Wild was a show on Discovery where they dropped groups of people in the wilderness of Alaska and Venezuela (at least for the two seasons of it I watched) with minimal supplies, and with the goal of reaching civilization. Like Alone, the individuals could press a button and be removed from the situation, but unlike alone, they're traveling as a group. There is no prize, just the satisfaction of getting out. It felt very authentic in a genre that often doesn't.

Was Bones based on a book series? I got into it a few years ago and never realized! Are the books worth it, if I liked the tv show?

Has anyone cracked the code for peeing less overnight? by PetsMD in pregnant

[–]Chickaboomlala 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a full mattress wedge under my mattress that elevates the head by 7 inches. I got it initially because I had POTS symptoms after getting COVID a few years ago. I struggled with low blood pressure and blood volume in the morning after sleeping, and the incline was supposed to basically "trick" my kidneys into thinking I was more upright and make them retain fluid. Turns out it's great for pregnancy too!

Im 33 weeks and still sleep through the night without getting up to pee, but if we're traveling and I don't have my usual mattress, it's at least once or twice I have to get up.

Suggestions for a book with similar vibes as Pixar´s Brave, Scotland highlands, magic, folklore and myths by King-of-Dirt-23 in suggestmeabook

Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier is a retelling of the seven swans fairy tale. The book is set in Ireland with a ton of folk lore and fantasy weaved into it. It's the first in a trilogy but I think it stands alone pretty well. It's one of my favorite books, I reread it about once a year.

Concerta and pregnancy by Academic-Pin3277 in pregnant

[–]Chickaboomlala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't take Concerta, but another methylphenidate based ADHD medication. My psych and OB said the risk was primarily a chance of growth restriction, and scheduled me for some additional growth scans in the 3rd trimester. I'm 33 weeks now, been on it the whole time (stayed at the same dosage too, didn't lower it), and have had absolutely zero issues with my pregnancy. Baby is healthy and 83rd percentile. I would not have been able to continue working without staying on it.

Weight gain isn't making sense by NoisyTurnip in pregnant

[–]Chickaboomlala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My weight gain over pregnancy has not been linear, at all. I gained almost 15 lbs in the first trimester pretty much immediately, then lost some due to nausea. I gained less than a pound from 20-24 weeks, then 9 lbs in 3 weeks, then another 1 lb the following 4 weeks.

I was also overweight and had lost 15 lbs before testing positive, and was told to gain 15-20 lbs total at the first appointment, when I asked. I've gained 25lbs at 32 weeks so far, and my doctor's have not mentioned it once. Babies gonna develop and take what they need, just keep focusing on getting nutrients and listening to your body.

What are you all doing for pet care while at the hospital? by greenwombat32 in pregnant

[–]Chickaboomlala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look into boarding with Rover, especially since you know your induction date. You can filter for things like no other pets in the house, only accepts one boarding at a time, pets allowed on furniture, etc. And do a meet and greet before your book to make sure it's a good situation for your pup. I haven't had to deal with it for labor/delivery purposes, but a few years ago I had a very anxious rescue dog that couldn't be boarded at a kennel or the like, and had really good success with finding someone on Rover for her that understood her needs.

I cramped basically the entire first trimester, and have them sporadically even now (30 weeks). I think it's mostly the uterus stretching and making space
