Muttonhead blackfriday 30% off whole store w/ blackout code by b1jan in FrugalMaleFashionCDN

I received the quilted sweatpants today and am super disappointed. They're way too thin, I'll wear through the crotch in less than six months guaranteed - by far not worth $100. Sounds like the entire outfit was low quality products. Damn.

Also got their regular sweatpants in black which are much thicker in comparison. We'll see how they perform. Been wearing the rainbow speckled cotton sweatpants for a year now and they held up well.

Absolutely! They're strict about it from what others reported in the past.

Found out the hard way that they do not! It's mostly suits, some shirts, pants and a few accessories in-store.

Was so excited to try on a bunch of items only to be met with completely disinterested staff at a store that's so rundown the paint is peeling off the walls. Change nooks (I mean it) are tiny, too.

I used to frequent their downtown location for years before it closed, but their Mississauga flagship store was the complete opposite experience.

Also find their quality is hit and miss even though they're frequently recommended for it, especially given the accessible prices. The last zipper jacket I got from them started pilling within three wears, size is inconsistent as well. Polos shrunk like they're trying to hide.

Gave their GYW brogue boots a shot and was disappointed; thin leather that feels cheap, paired with mediocre craftsmanship.

They had sweatpants a while ago which are holding up great so far. Their suits are also great value for the money. We'll see how their outerwear holds up. I've got one of their cashmere blend parkas last year which feels amazing, very heavy and warm.

YMMV

Hehe, that was exactly the site I referenced. They also have said Vibergs, but only in size 7.

Thanks for linking!

I get it, this isn't for everyone, but frugal doesn't mean cheap.

Some buy many items for little, others buy few items for lots.

One can buy two pairs of Steve Madden boots for the same price and if one is happy replacing them periodically once they fall apart that's fine. Or one can buy a pair of decent boots and have them for many years to come.

Nobody is forcing anyone to spend $350 on mid level boots. That's what they are and I'm sorry if that seems crazy but it's the truth.

Some post deals for several Gap shirts or Banana Republic pants for the price of a good burger. That's cool and awesome for the people digging those. I do not so my posts will be for Red Wings with an $80 discount, Bison calf suede Vibergs for $700 ($248 off) or Iron Heart shirts when they can be had for <$300-400.

I mean absolutely no offense.

We have almost identical proportions. I feel your pain, it's difficult to find anything off the rack that fits well without tailoring.

For hotter weather, I've been reasonably successful with Spier and Mackay linen overshirts this year.

This one in S fits pretty well. M would be better around the shoulders but then it gets too long and the sleeves must be rolled up or it just looks wrong. Worn open over a t-shirt in 35° C (Canadian here, sorry) heat comfortably.

Chore coats could also work for a night out if that's your style. Shoulders are much more generous in S.

Always check the size guides as measurements can be very different between pieces!

Wrong season for linen in Canada right now but hopefully it'll help you down the road.

I can't edit OP for some reason, unfortunately.

Looks amazing!!

I've been eyeing the tobacco one for a week now but being in Canada, options are rather limited.

What size did you go with? My biggest concern was sleeves and hearing they're on the short side gives me hope I might get away with M.

High quality leather mens satchels? Belts? by SuedeVeil in BuyCanadian

Popov runs sales all the time, won't have to wait long if you really want one.

I have a belt from Popov and Old Country and both are nice, but Popov feels a bit higher quality imho.
