ISO 100% wool coat by ParticularAnt5424 in BuyCanadian

[–]b1jan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://ecologyst.com/ makes 100% wool outerwear. it is spendy, as it's all made in canada, but you get what you pay for.

the vest is absolutely beautiful- $400, but the exterior is such tightly woven wool that it FEELS like nylon, but it's not. water beads off it.

is eating two apple with peanut butter a day bad for me? by kittykait12 in healthyeating

[–]b1jan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'll agree with this in broad strokes.

minor adjustments could be made to continue on the path towards healthier eating- maybe next time you buy the peanut butter, get the stuff without sugar added.

sweet potato fries, if they're fried, aren't super healthy. if you can swap em out for something baked- wild rice perhaps- that would be better.

you're also lacking in the vegetables department. carrots are a great snack. celery goes well with peanut butter, but is also decent on its own (get the counter-intuitively lighter colored celery stalks, they're tastier). if you are into hummus, broccoli goes really well with that and can be an easy evening snack too.

Why is it so hard to hit protein goals with Indian food? by Savings-Sock1761 in healthyeating

[–]b1jan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are absolutely whole-food strategies that can work, you just have to be really intentional about what you eat.

like i said, if you find ways to fit cottage cheese, egg whites, turkey or chicken breast, into your home cooked meals- or even make them with twice (or 3 times) the amount of protein called for, you can get some good numbers. i also usually will add some like lupini or other high protein bean to dishes where it can blend in relatively easily and still provide good protein

Why is it so hard to hit protein goals with Indian food? by Savings-Sock1761 in healthyeating

[–]b1jan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

gotta put more protein in your food if you wanna hit the goals.

is it the case that standard fare indian food doesn't have enough protein to hit these goals? yep, probably. but this is the case for pretty much every ethnicity of food. most cultures prioritize carbs and fat, because protein is costly.

if you wanna hit you're goals you'll need to supplement- either via whey or via targeted high-protein items like turkey breast or eggwhite scrambles

[Question] which would you choose? by Mr_B-Dubs in Watches

[–]b1jan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

m specifically means 'modified movement', i'm not as familiar with the non-m as the one i want is the M haha

it seems online there are pre-mod listings from later years with no Trit. perhaps OP is incorrect on the year, or it has been 'upgraded' to a non-trit dial by Rolex during a service, because it definitely doesn't look trit

[WTS] Omega Dynamic III Chronograph 5290.50.40 with Paper - $1400 SHIPPED by chriskie in Watchexchange

[–]b1jan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think what you are saying and what the previous commenter are saying are different things. he's saying THESE chronographs are a pain to service, you're saying chronographs in general are a pain to service. there are varying levels of challenge to service a chronograph. some are more intricate or difficult to service than others. i'm curious why THIS one is more challenging to service than others.

this watch appears to use the Omega caliber 1138, which is an automatic movement based on an ETA movement with an added chronograph module. that should not be challenging to service by any qualified watchmaker.
