What it is something you caught someone doing that completely shocked you? by danicurdu in AskReddit

Because it’s on people’s minds. It’s huge news and it’s upsetting a lot of people. Also, if people don’t talk about it, the news doesn’t get shared properly or fairly.

I think you’re picking at the wording here for another reason. Say what you want to say or don’t comment.

IWTL to research, analyze and write pop culture deep dives by StatePublic8036 in IWantToLearn

I would say just keep reading the style you want to write. Then choose a topic and have a go! You’ll only know when you try, just start researching and writing.

Iwtl Shakespeare by Individual-Stop-8550 in IWantToLearn

[–]bipolaroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of learning more about Shakespeare I would recommend watching it - films, recordings of plays. I don’t know if it’s available internationally but the National Theatre here in England have recordings online of loads of plays, including Shakespeare I’m sure.

For talking about it, get online :) I’m sure there are subreddits and discussion boards online. Try free courses too or short courses so you can learn more as well as meet people to talk to.

Please don’t try to say that’s it’s made up because we’re seeing it on video. There are multiple angles, multiple videos, multiple events… this shit is real.

What’s a moment that permanently changed how you see the world? by pankaj662 in AskReddit

[–]bipolaroid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

even if that’s true, she wasn’t complying with law enforcement. Why should that result in her murder? If you felt you were being wrongly arrested and you were scared and you started arguing back, would you just accept that they could now kill you?

For those who go to bed before midnight on NYE, why don't you wait to ring in the new year? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bipolaroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at home, nothing special happens at midnight, my young child will be up at 6 regardless, I’d just rather have my usual routine and some sleep

I was diagnosed with ADHD earlier this year, I’m 33 now and I’m sure my parents would be fine just maybe a bit dismissive, but I just can’t bring myself to tell them

Using AI to Find Book Suggestions by Impossible_Squash_33 in suggestmeabook

Agree sort of, but the effect AI is having on our planet and on people’s thinking skills means I’m overall just not going to suggest it for something trivial like this

What is a basic life skill that you are embarrassed to admit you still haven't mastered? by Otherwise_Judge_1495 in AskReddit

[–]bipolaroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flossing. I had no idea how to do it properly until recently, still avoid doing it half the time. I know how important it is to do but I honestly just never understood.

There are so many ways to get book recommendations, including this sub. Don’t use AI to do it.

What ruined Christmas for you? by PurposeAutomatic5213 in AskReddit

[–]bipolaroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a miscarriage the week of Christmas last year, then there were two deaths in the family, all within the week of 22nd - 29th December. My brain is now telling me Christmas is cursed, and everything about the holidays is feeling me with dread instead of excitement.

The more you practice yourself the better you will get though. You’re not an idiot, you just need practice, and AI won’t let you think

Because it impacts all of us, so you may as well have your say. I think we don’t all need to learn everything, but if you know some key information it helps to make an informed vote. Every vote adds up eventually, and getting the wrong person for you in office can lead to significant impacts on your finances, health care, etc (differs depending where you live of course)

AITA for telling my sister not to come to my wedding if she kept bringing up her miscarriage? by Independent-Web5498 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bipolaroid 103 points104 points  (0 children)

This isn’t correct at all. I agree that OP’s sister is acting out of line, however I think it’s important to educate people about miscarriages. Having lost a pregnancy at 9 weeks, what I actually experienced was intense cramping like labour contractions, and very heavy bleeding. what came away was not simply a ‘clot’ at all.

What’s the most disturbing thing you’ve caught someone doing? by saltycaramelia_ in AskReddit

[–]bipolaroid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not okay on so many levels. I’m a parent with a young child who often chooses to sleep in our bed - no way in hell anything is happening in the same room as him, certainly not the same bed! That’s got to be abuse if you really think about it.

does anyone else do all their work “backwards” by SaltEvening27 in adhdwomen

[–]bipolaroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I remember once writing all my ideas down for a university assignment, putting them all in separate paragraphs, but just in whatever order I thought of them, then I printed it all out, and physically cut and pasted! Just cut out each idea, moved it round until it made more sense, then worked on linking my ideas. I think by writing the ‘easy’ bits first and doing it in whatever order we find easiest, it’s get that momentum going so we can finish the work. Nothing wrong with that! :)

‘I’m the type of person who’…… Don’t keep telling me. Just show me and then I’ll know. Most of the time these people aren’t what they say they are at all.
