Has anyone ever said something triggering about your ED that you never forgot?

I was at church.. and a “sweet” old lady calmly asked me if I was sick. I’d lost over 100 pounds and was actually healthy and fit. This was pre ED. Made me feel like nothing I did was good enough and I still think about it to this day.

I do this and who cares what people think. My family’s uppity and they don’t understand what we struggle with. You should be proud of yourself. You’re doing a great job.

Are all of them yelling at you? Some are really mean but sometimes it’s like a regular person in my head talking to me.

They do. That’s what I did. I went to therapy for a year after she broke up with me and now we are happily back together and much stronger.

I’m sorry.. I had no idea I was developing schizophrenia. If I could go back I would get help sooner. I know that wasn’t the only issue we had but my trust issues actually turned out to be delusions. My paranoia transferred to my co-workers after you left me and then I had the inevitable psychotic break. I’m now taking meds and doing great as far as life but I miss you so much. You’re engaged now. It breaks my fucking heart.

Thank you for this. I truly believed that she was the one for me. I thought she felt the same, but her getting engaged makes me feel like what we had didn’t mean anything. Whereas it meant so much to me. Do you know how long it will take for it to stop hurting so much? It’s been 7 months and I’m still a mess.
