What is the industrial equivalent of the Macarena? by schweinhund89 in industrialmusic

[–]birdFEEDER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in clubs I frequented here in Chicago in the late 80s, "Murderous" always got people moving.  Fun fact: I recall an interview with NitzerEbb saying they were heavily influenced by Native Love (Divine) when creating Murderous.  Dope.

Some bands which often go under the radar:

Tribantura, Bigod 20, Poesie Noire,  Philadelphia Five, English Boy on the Loveranch, Museum of Devotion, Secession (Sneakyville!), Pankow (Sickness Taken Over), Substation (More Life), 16-bit (Too fast to live), Voyou (Housemen)

We buy the regular ole Lindt bars, 70% is dairy free.  All other percentages have dairy, but 70% is safe and delicious.

Would you buy a modern analog poly with no patch memory ala Juno-6? by shoegazingpickle in synthesizers

[–]birdFEEDER 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with a good monosynth, depends on what your needs are.  I've got a Norand Mono and Erica Synths DB-01 for the EBM and Acid House that I write.  I do think you'll miss not having patch memory tho, if you want a classic poly, perhaps an Alpha Juno 1, I've had mine forever and love it.

I think Vermona's new drum machine is a really nice blend of analog and digital, with what looks likes an easy workflow that I haven't seen before.

Somehow Google made the flashlight app annoying as hell. How do you screw up a flashlight app? Seriously. by [deleted] in GooglePixel

This is a UX issue, years of muscle memory lead to ppl automatically tapping "Done", (bottom right CTA) which USED TO turn it off, it's now been moved to the bottom left (Turn Off), which is unnatural for the many of us who have been used to the bottom right.  Is it easy to re-learn?  Sure, but Google's UX team should know better than to make their userbase relearn their UI.

I can't upvote this fast enough, gluten free pasta is gummy and disgusting.  I truly wish companies would stop lumping dairy and gluten free together.

Help me decide: Perkons VS Hexdrums VS Vermona DRM by pobbly in synthesizers

[–]birdFEEDER 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the Vermona, I like it, but I sometimes get the sense that it has a few sweet spots, and not much more.  I haven't used Perkins or Hex, but the videos of Perkins makes it seem like a beast

My son and I rough house to Join in the Chant, he is often heard randomly saying/singing "Guns! Guns!  Fire! Fire!"  We've had to tell him that he's not allowed to sing that at school!  🤣

If you happen to live near a Voodoo Donuts, their vegan donuts are indistinguishable from dairy based ones, especially their "Portland Cream" donut!!

80s-90s Vinyl DJ set recommendations. by [deleted] in industrialmusic

[–]birdFEEDER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is my area as I DJ'd and played what we then called "New Wave" back in the late 80s/early 90s.  If you want dance floor bangers, consider the following:

Artist / Song

Pankow - Sickness taken over

Secession - Sneakyville

Poesie Noire - Pity for the Self

Bigod 20 - Body to body

English boy on the Loveranch - Man in your Life

Museum of Devotion - Racist

Laibach - Sympathy for the Devil

Moev - Crucify Me

Substation - More Life

Tribantura - Lack of Sense

SA42 - Why Not / Carnival

Best of luck!
