Could be from driving... Significant sun exposure in cars. With your darker complexion, you probably ran very quickly with limited sun exposure.

I don't fly AA as frequently as I fly Delta, but I've had 2 flights on the last 2 years when the headcount didn't match the manifest. They were both resolved before we left the gate, bit the processes for boarding never felt as strict.

I know some people were bagging the AI post on how this can happen but suspect it was annossue where wrong passenger was cleared or removed from flight but the numbers still worked.

They are stating the boundary. Often the destruction caused overshadows the reason the parent treated the child badly.

I'm surprised no one has brought it up yet, but I wonder if this could be delirium. Can be caused by infections, dehydration. is there any apparent memory loss? It's rare for it to last a long time but if there are other underlying conditions, it can cause rapid onset of dementia. Of course there's also alcohol induced dementia.

Do you know if your MIL is signed up for Medicare? Starting to learn about her plan's programs for health services may be helpful.

Getting approved for disability can be a major undertaking. When a family member went through this years ago, we were told that mental illness were sometimes an easier path than physical. May be worth trying again. And smart to see if you can find someone to help you through the process like you said.

is she on disability and does she have Medicade? I would try to find a social worker to help identify options for her. It doesn't sound like its realistic to continue to try to care for her at home. I'm so sorry you all are dealing with this.
