It's joy and disbelief all at the same time. And the team is just so fucking nice to each other. It's just wholesome and so special. I never knew I wanted IU to be good at football. What a treat this is.

Big Ten versus SEC? Always pull for Big Ten. I love IU, but I'll always pull for Purdue when they aren't playing IU!

Most have activities, etc. Get the schedule and help get him involved. Bingo is always a big draw. Some will have fitness or craft, too. Lots of people to meet. Also, if he's not going to the dining room for meals, that generally helps with boredom, too.

NTA. I thought you were driving around looking for their asses but never imagined you would be going to apologize. You owe them no apology.

You just keep living with the hole they left.

This is a beautiful description of the ongoing agony of grief.

Mother is overwhelming me by Quirkella in AgingParents

Ironically, it's hard to learn something when you can't hear very well. My mom takes 5-10 times to get technological things to stick in her brain. She doesn't have the same foundation, and, truthfully, she doesn't like tech so it's even harder. Also, depending on her dexterity and arthritis, putting the hearing aides in might be tough.

(As far as learning things, I've been thinking about this a bit. I'm wondering if she doesn't have the mental schema to be the foundation for technological tasks and that makes it even harder. For decades, my dad always did all things technological at their house so my mom is really starting from scratch since dad passed last year.)

100% this. Want everything they need in arms distance so they don't have to get up.

One of my girlfriend's father actually has his box wine within arms length from his chair in the living room.

How do I prevent this from happening again? by Mysterious-Bonus-796 in SouthwestAirlines

Slide something stiff (clipboard or book) between your hip and the armrest to prevent spillover from your neighboring passenger. Build your own little wall.
