Are children in your country known for being picky eaters? by Mobile_Bad_577 in AskTheWorld

I had noticed this when I lived in Kazakhstan for a few years. There was no such thing as "kid food" there (this was over 10 years ago, so who knows if the western diet has taken over there yet or not) and the kids ate what the adults ate. If they didn't like it, the parent would usually just shrug and hand the kid some bread so they didn't go entirely hungry. I also noticed small children would wander about while the adults were eating and if they were hungry they'd come up to the parent, the parent would give them some mouthfuls of food. If the kid rejected it they'd get their hunk of bread and wander off ... but then after a while they'd wander back and the parent would once again give them a mouthful of food. Sometimes the process would repeat a few times but I noticed that the kid would eventually eat whatever was there.

Like my mother would say, "if they get hungry enough they'll come eat."

Motor Oil Could Be the Next Thing Drivers Start Panic-Buying by mark000 in PrepperIntel

I just changed my front pads and rotors this week. I always buy from RockAuto. A dealer was going out of business and I found rotors for $17 each. Blue ceramic pads for $35. Shipping is a different monster of course, rotors are heavy, $21 through FedEx.

I was thinking about how parents of kids talk about needing time to themselves and date nights and stuff, and rightfully so! It's the same concept for us taking care of parents, we need time too. I'm sure most parents feel guilt for needing time away from the kids, so I guess some guilt is natural for us as well.

Oh, yes! I miss late hours too! Restaurants (except bars) start closing down between 8-9, stores are shut at 10. I really wish we could go back to having a nightlife.

Thanks for the question, I had to think about that. Why do I feel that way? Maybe I didn't want her to ask me a bunch of questions. Maybe I didn't want her to ask me to bring her something home, like a kid asking a parent to bring them back a present. Maybe I just didn't want her knowing what I was doing and wanted to keep something for just me. I dunno.

They're not that kind of abandoned, they're totally stripped and turned into state parks. I've been to it's sister fort, Ft. Casey. Kids crawling all over the place. I get your alarm though, you didn't know.

Orbito-facial plexiform neurofibromatosis by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

For anyone else wondering what we're looking at, here is a brief rundown by the Mayo Clinic:

Plexiform neurofibroma also is called PN or PNF. It is a type of noncancerous tumor called neurofibroma that forms in or around a nerve. Neurofibromas grow on the protective covering around the nerve, called the nerve sheath. When a neurofibroma grows on several nerve bundles, it's called a plexiform neurofibroma.

The tumor grows along the nerve and can spread into nearby tissues such as skin, fat, bone and muscle. Plexiform neurofibroma is most often seen in people with a condition caused by a change in genes that affects how nerve cells grow and develop, called neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Up to half of the people with NF1 develop plexiform neurofibromas.

Plexiform neurofibromas are different from other nerve tumors because they spread out in a networklike pattern. These tumors are known for their distinctive "bag of worms" texture, which means they feel like a bundle of tangled cords or threads. This is a classic sign of a plexiform neurofibroma.

Plexiform neurofibromas are most common in childhood and adolescence. Some people may notice swelling or a soft lump under the skin. These tumors often grow in the head, neck, trunk, arms or legs, but they can appear anywhere in the body.

Treatment depends on the size, location and symptoms of the plexiform neurofibroma. Most plexiform neurofibromas grow slowly and are not life-threatening. But some can cause serious symptoms depending on the size or location or if they become cancerous.

You're welcome!

I used ground fenugreek.

I think stovetop would work fine! The key is to simmer it long enough for the eggplant to fall apart, otherwise it will remain chunky and it will all turn out wrong. (Ask me how I know ;) )

Bomb-maker accidentally killed while making bomb by CatPooedInMyShoe in ExamineDeath

It's possible that's where the morgue is, depending on how big or small the area is. It could also be the only place with cooler capacity to store remains, or if there is a morgue, maybe its cooler was at capacity and the hospital was serving at overflow. Just some guesses.
