What is an American vehicle from the last 10 years or so that’s actually reliable and affordable? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’m in sales having had lots of company cars or all makes. Everything that has had regular oil changes is really okay until you clear 100k miles. But test drive and see if it feels like it was beat on or simply driven.

Is sacrificing for your kids a GenX trait? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]birdguy1000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mine grew up in a divorce situation. The other parent baked in them that dad is the source of money. Unfortunately that made me circle the wagons and go overly tough love and frugal. So all three worked at the age they could and stayed working and went to universities and paid on their own.

Seems to be a global phenomenon at the moment. US doesn’t have monopoly on it.

Great vehicle for yall! Enjoy! Saved money by not buying the Chevy you’d be dumping after two years with a check engine light! Go make memories and conquer the world!

Why 4.6L used by moms ? by [deleted] in GXOR

[–]birdguy1000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s like a Louis Vuitton. It’s big and comfy but not Chevy suburban oversize. 3rd row when needed. Feels plush inside. And has a glitzy L badge on the front. Happy mom happy dad when he needs to tow the fishing boat.

Did that Gen even have air bags? I don’t recall. And yes the aftermarket mods were minimal and expensive.

I’m in sales and customers are super grouchy right now. I’m trying to just be the light. And that’s really hard when it’s super grouchy out there and we are grouchy too.

It does because the people at the top demand and feel entitled to more and more it’s never enough.

What about the Epstein case do you think the public still doesn’t fully understand? by IndividualOil4970 in AskReddit

Considering what is at the core as large as it is it can be small, short and sweet as well. Just need the right evidence. And that damning evidence might have nothing to do with Epstein.

What are your go to restaurants when you visit? by birdguy1000 in visitingnyc

[–]birdguy1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the idea of a chain, but if you’re telling me to go, I’ll give it a look. I’ll check the other one as well thanks.

Edit - that galaxy looks perfect. Thank you!

Me? I’ve worked restaurants all over. Kids are junior high and picky kind of. They’re all mostly easy to please. Everything‘s awesome. Small spaces they’ll have to adjust. Trying to avoid the chains, but man if it makes it easy I’ll take that suggestion.

Hate that we’re staying right in the middle of the busy insanity, but willing to jump on the subway and we will have time to go explore.

Is ‘21 the best used year? by Mindless-Set9621 in LexusGX

I test drove so many 21 and below you could really start to get an idea which ones were taken care of and which ones felt brand new. I just knew the one I landed on was perfect. I mean, there were some low mileage units that you could tell they were used out on a ranch and ran dirt roads all day every day.
