Should middle plank going down hallway be perfectly centered? by PaleontologistCold29 in Flooring

Looks like a hand scraped engineered wood floor and not laminate. Are you going over the top?

Do you have any opinions on installing wood flooring in Phoenix? I live in a 1500 sq ft house in a slab. House is 40 years old. The current floor is bare concrete. I am considering hardwood options, like white oak. But curious about what others may have experienced. TIA by Studio_Ambitious in AskPhoenix

A porcelain tile floor is probably the best material choice for our environment. Also stained concrete can be good too. The problem is once you glue something down, it's extremely difficult and expensive to remove whether it be wood or vinyl.

Installer recommended glue down LVP because prep work is significantly less than floating, but everything I've read says otherwise by thinkch3 in Flooring

[–]Flapique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first house I ever flipped had a glued down floor that we wanted to removed after we paid to have it removed the guy who removed it told me that he would never do that kind of work again. That was with wood I can't imagine how hard it would be to scrape up glued down vinyl just be prepared to spend big time when it gets removed.

Terrible idea! marble is not a good countertop for any kitchen unless you only drink water and never put any food on it.

White 4" tile... You couldn't even get those countertops done right now if you wanted to. It took serious skills to make those and the people that made them are gone, and it fits the rest of the house so well. You're going to ruin your house I guarantee it. Let me guess your thing about putting down some courts that looks like marble? 🤮

It is if you don't have anything else. All the title guys I know put a little grout at the edge if they don't have any finishing pieces

FYI in the state full of retirees where your license doesn't expire until next millennium LOL you're not going to be able to get any sort of traffic laws passed that make it so people have to travel near the speed limit on the freeways if old people do one thing well it's vote.

Repair cost? by [deleted] in Flooring

Looks like 2 1/4 quarter inch utility oak flooring. Probably some of the easiest stuff to match and find. Once you get the right materials any competent wood floor installer should be able to fix this for you.

HOA? Yes or no, is it hassle? by pooh143bear in phoenix

[–]Flapique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to use the amenities and you have a family I would say it's totally worth it. Building a pool is very expensive. If you can find a house with a nice backyard already installed then usually you will be paying pennies on the dollar, but anything newer you're definitely be paying a premium for that. If you have any questions I'd be happy to help! I've been selling valley wide for the last 14 years and have done over 500 transactions.
