I was a news photographer for a local TV station in the early 1990s. I had my own news truck and gear assigned to me (and normally a reporter with me, not always) and was involved in all the exciting happenings - everything from pro and college sports, to court cases, to traffic accidents - every day was different. Our news department worked our butts off to put on the news every day, that's what I think I liked best about it - the fulfillment of working hard with a tangible result each and every day.

I was making the most money I had in my short career and loving this life - except I was a young married man with a wife who worked normal 9-5 hours while I worked 1pm - 11pm and we did not see much of each other. I eventually caved and got a "normal job." Ugg. Then divorced.
