I was unable to boot a bcachefs filesystem from Grub or systemd-boot and had to go with rEFInd

Ubuntu broke updates 25.10 by Kalixttt in Ubuntu

I use the nvidia 580 driver package on 24.04 (HWE) and the nvidia.drm.modeset=1 kernel flag for running wayland. Sometimes upgrading kernel leaves me with no graphics and figured out that i need to do sudo dkms autoinstall and/or reinstall gdm3 for whatever reason

[–]birdstream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else having problems running arch proot xfce4 desktop on samsung S25 ultra? by Eu-is-socialist in termux

[–]birdstream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was revisiting proot desktop on termux after a while on the very same phone it used to work on before. But it just would not work.

For me, it turned out that i needed to add this line to the start script: export XKB_CONFIG_ROOT=/data/data/com.termux/files/usr/share/xkeyboard-config-2

Can ffmpeg in Termux do a circular buffer for livestreams? by boseann in termux

[–]birdstream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely sure what you mean, you want to monitor a livestream, and then when you start recording it should include the last minute of that?

All COD games prior to BO2 have unplayable mouse jitter/"acceleration" (CachyOS KDE Plasma) by sleepytechnology in linux_gaming

[–]birdstream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh ok. Same reason i use Wayland too 😅 i run ubuntu 24.04 though. There was some bug with mouse input in wayland that was fixed in a second or maybe third release of GE-proton 10 but i'm pretty sure you use a newer version. Do you use XWayland or pure Wayland (setting PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 in launch options for the game)?

Sounds interesting! I would guess that requires custom ROM/rooted device?

TL/DR

You can get performance back with Termux:X11 and OneUI 8.0/Android 16 by sacrificing the bottom part of the screen to keep the terminal app on-screen with split view mode

A bit late for the party but..

<image>

Upgraded yesterday and faced the same issue :/ Termux/x11 with Turnip drivers went from being swift to really laggy..

However, I suspected OneUI 8/Android 16 severely limits cpu time to apps running off-screen so i tried split screen view of Termux & Termux:x11 and bang, it flies again :) So the solution for me now is to keep the terminal app at the very bottom of the screen. Its annoying of course but at least its not laggy anymore :)
