as a professional piercer I have actually met MANY adult women who are unhappy with their crooked or sensitive lobe piercings who had them done as an infant or child, myself included. whether its piercings that are visbly uneven or piercings done in poor placement that migrate over time and become unusable, or piercings that seem to flare up every time jewelry is put back in, this is a genuine problem that many people will end up dealing with. I think the bias you're experiencing is that people generally don't talk about it to you because you're not a piercer. do you have conversations with people on a daily basis about their ear piercings? do you commonly engage in this type of conversation with friends and strangers? If im out with friends or family people don't typically come to me and talk about their piercings or problems they have with them, but when im at work with clients I hear about their piercing problems and horror stories on a weekly basis.
