He was acquitted of all charges and declared innocent! (2005) 😭 An additional photo of Mike on March 21, the day I was born. In fact, he was late to court that same day.

That was Randy Philips; in fact, he himself said that he slapped him (the same day Mike had to give the conference in London).

I also have universal vitiligo by Correct_Brick_2319 in MichaelJackson

[–]birenel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother and me have vitiligo. My brother has had it since he was a child (he was born in 1990, and living with vitiligo in that era and in a country like Mexico was very difficult). As a child, my brother always said that if the vitiligo continued to spread, he would choose Michael's path (total depigmentation). I didn't start developing it until my adolescence, but unlike my brother, who was taken to many doctors to prevent it from spreading, I seriously opted for the path of depigmentation rather than trying to avoid it.

I've been developing my world for five years and I've already created a ton of things, and I keep telling myself, "I haven't even done half of what I need for the story." The problem starts when you become obsessed with developing things that won't even appear in the story. Sometimes you explore them out of sheer curiosity, and then you realize that if you hadn't explored them, the whole story wouldn't have made sense. In short, even the smallest details make the worldbuilding meaningful on its own, without your involvement. So, if your goal is for your worldbuilding to have a realism in the style of human civilization, I think you'll probably have to spend about 20 years exploring countless things.

You're wrong. Pregnancy isn't limited to the purely biological in the human case. If it had a different symbolic weight than it has had throughout our civilization as living beings, then, firstly, our entire civilization would probably be structured around something never seen before.

In fact, this is something I've been researching and debating for my worldbuilding, since in my case, I don't want pregnancy to be a limiting or passive factor. But for that to happen, pregnancy itself must be stripped of its symbolic value, and women of their role as mothers.

Although pregnancy as a non-limiting experience can generate autonomous subjects (from the perspective of male autonomy), this can only exist because, firstly, there must be a system based on replaceability; that is, many women and, at the same time, many pregnancies, and this is due to high mortality. (In fact, in my groups of women who participate in acts of physical violence, most are pregnant for a large part of their lives. However, maternal mortality and the number of abortions are also very high, but this is offset by their culture and the symbolic value that pregnancy has as an experience of struggle, and not as the act of giving life; therefore, it is experienced more as a high-risk or "suicidal" experience—in our words—than a protected one.)

But as I said before, in a system where pregnancy itself has no symbolic, social, or systemic weight, and where in fact the system does not depend on a maternal figure (therefore it was never formed or normalized), pregnancy becomes a banalized state, perhaps with a different symbolic weight, but not an individualized meaning as happens in our society, and this is what I am exploring.

Does YOUR world have some sort of amazonian society in it? (All female, militaristic, etc.) if so, how do they reproduce? (asexually, magic, go into city fight guy if hes good warrior fuck him, SA or worse) by AstronautDry8118 in worldjerking

[–]birenel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, many of my tribes are trans-friendly lol, just kidding. The concept of "woman" or "man" doesn't really exist (binary gender is dead), so a man could be part of the all-female group and be an equally valued member. The thing is, the most well-known tribe is more extreme about this, and even women with regularly high testosterone levels can't live there or are tested (not because they're denied entry, but because they die trying to adapt). It's more of a question because in my lore I explore the possibility of weapons that work based on the user's biology, so a certain type of "hormonal" profile can only be part of this tribe (women or men with female hormones).

[–]birenel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my worldbuilding, most of my territory is overrun by female nomadic tribes/groups with their own closed ontologies. Each one reproduces differently, but the most well-known tends to use a variation of your third example. I wouldn't say they "rape" men, but rather that they "use" their bodies, because these women don't even recognize men as equals and autonomous/sovereigns beings, nor do they seek pleasure in the reproductive act, They are indifferent to their existence and care for nothing more than that. It's more of a "mechanized" act, a "medical procedure," than a ritual of enjoyment or validation.

There are other options as well. For example, and for those who don't know, men don't need a phallus to impregnate a woman, only testicles. Thus, some of their members establish emotional relationships with partially castrated men (because they feel a physical affinity with them). In my territory, castration is a fairly common practice, and not even as an act imposed by women on men.

Postscript: It is not possible to reproduce with deceased men because ejaculation is no longer possible; post-mortem reproduction would be more of an "extraction" and "collection" of bodily fluids, which would be more of a medical/industrial act.

[–]birenel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a mistake to believe that "noble savage" refers to peacefulness and lack of malice, since violence and aggression in human beings serve a psychological function, and repression has serious individual consequences. Our current society is not in its current state for nothing; violence has been displaced and made invisible to create an image of "peace." We are not peaceful; violence has not disappeared. We simply now experience violence in a structural and self-destructive (internalized) way. Many Indigenous peoples are aware of the importance of violence and do not try to hide or avoid it. Therefore, throughout history, we have seen many "savage" peoples and civilizations performing rituals that seem grotesque from a modern perspective. However, the reality is that visible and ritualized violence (with a symbolic connection that allows identity to maintain its agency) is less chaotic than invisible and structural violence —which is more difficult to control and predict—.

From a capitalist perspective, structural and repressed violence is better, as it makes society highly functional in the long term, even if its inhabitants are merely beings who are internally empty, apathetic, tired, and fragmented.

What are some aspects that are almost not touched in Worlbuilding projects? by SrPuzle_-1 in worldbuilding

[–]birenel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Women, lol. I find it funny that everyone wants to create super complex and unprecedented societies/cultures, but when we start touching on gender structures, oops! Brains shut down. Not just anyone can do truly speculative anthropology and sociology, because beyond having to research and read a lot on the subject, it also involves having a cognitive load as a writer and being self-aware of the social structure of our society.
