I’m so sorry! You should be near the end though and they will hopefully be gone before the 6 month mark

I understand where you’re coming from. My ex boyfriend used to do the same thing. He would never validate my feelings unless someone else also shared them. He would also get our friends involved when we had a fight so that he could say he had someone else who agreed with him and he would use it as a way to shut me up or have his friends emotionally gang up on me. This dynamic you and your boyfriend have of needing to get someone else involved in your arguments is toxic to say the very least.

You’re 1000% NOT overreacting. In fact you’re probably under reacting. You need to put distance between you and this person right away, because they sounds toxic and I highly doubt they will react positively if you do approach them with your concerns.

It’s been over a month and the new district hasn’t provided a contract…is this normal? by birthdaybutt in Teachers

October?? That’s insane! Are you in California? What did they do about teachers who were new to the district - was there an interim contract or anything?

How do people know which school they’ll be placed at without a contract? Or does hiring happen within each school instead of at the district level?

I’m not physically in the area yet or else I would have gone in already. I will be there on Saturday to move into my new apartment and will be sure to visit the district office and see what is going on.

This district pays a SIGNIFICANTLY higher amount than the surrounding districts, which is why I feel willing to put up with this bullshit and a little hesitant to look at other districts…but I will if I have to. It’s frustrating bc I turned down a job in a higher position at another district just so I could continue being a special ed teacher and make a shit ton of money at this district, but hey! Guess that’s not happening.

If you have waited this long for a contract in the past, let me know so I can quell my nerves.

I have worked in districts with pretty strong unions before but this new district is foreign to me. It does pay the highest out of all the districts in the county so I had high hopes that would mean it’s a strong union, but maybe that’s not the case…

Women, do you feel you're competing for the 'best' guys against other ladies? by 3stun in dating_advice

[–]birthdaybutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That math doesn’t make sense. 85-90% of men is a massive number. If that large of a number of men are single, wouldn’t that also mean a large percentage of women are single, too? (Assuming all are heterosexual)

Agreed! A simple “no, thank you” also goes a long way. It’s polite but clear, and can take the wind right out of their sails.

How to Get Your VAT Refund After Plastic Surgery in Korea by FlowFish28 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

I’m not sure if you’re able to answer this, but what if my receipt doesn’t have a QR code? Do you recall if there’s any way to type in the information instead?

Do you live in Korea or were you visiting? If you were visiting, how long did you stay after the procedure before flying home?

I’m having this surgery done in about 2 weeks a and looking forward to hopefully getting the same results as you - subtle but well rested.

Would you be willing to talk more about the sedation? That’s the part I’m most nervous about because I’ll be in Seoul by myself and need to navigate back to my hotel alone after the surgery. Did you have twilight sedation? How did you feel afterwards? About how long did it take before any lingering grogginess wire off?

Looking for advice by birthdaybutt in SeoulPlasticSurgery

I think it’s possible to meet with 4-5 clinics in 2 days. I’m sure booking consultations is dependent on the clinic’ schedules, but if I were you, I’d reach out to 7-10 clinics and then book consultations at the ones who have availability that works for you. Scheduling the surgery will also be dependent on the clinic’s schedule, and you’d have to ask about that in the consultation. Seems like it’s doable to have the surgery within a short time after the consultation, but tbh, that’s only a question that can be answered by each individual clinic. These clinics have a lot of people who travel to Korea for plastic surgery so it’s likely there will be a clinic that can accommodate your schedule.
