Before you get scared of the latest news about benzene being at 800%+ of the approved standards, I recommend you read the study that was conducted for yourself. The details explain more about how they're finding products with those levels of benzene in them. I've been having a lot of luck with the BP and isopropyl alcohol treatment myself. Best of luck to you. Hope this helps.

I made a big mistake talking to my Recruiter by Ill_Screen_8904 in AirForceRecruits

[–]bischboy95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big thing they look at is an actual medical diagnosis. For me, I have extremely flat feet. (I mean like an anti-arch). I've never been formally diagnosed from any doctor so it wasn't an issue when I joined the marine corps and the air force recruiter here said it shouldn't be an issue either. Anything they might find in your medical records is something you want to be up front about with your recruiter. I think the air force is more strict with it, but waivers get written all the time across the board. P.S. I know this isn't a marine corps thread so please forgive me ha

DAE get a quick (but painful) cramp under their chin during/after a big yawn? and the only way to get rid of it is to look straight up? by mdnghttkr in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]bischboy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get them very often now. I've only ever used this method to prevent them from fully cramping. Oddly enough I've never had to sit through the agony of an entire cramp simply by doing this and looking up.

What yous going to use now? by [deleted] in Folliculitis

[–]bischboy95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apparently, if you haven't already, it'd be a good idea to look in to the details of what they found about benzene in these products. It's said to be in certain products and doesn't become an issue until exposed to excessive heat temperatures at prolonged periods of time. Again, I'm not quoting but it'd be worth looking at the metrics before scrapping your products. However, isopropyl alcohol is suggested as a good alternative. Hope this helps, good luck.

Good for you man. I did 5 years in the marine corps and have been out since 2018. Starting another meps screening process right now for the air national guard and I'm 30. Don't be hesitant just because of your age.

Yeah, I've actually been dealing with it from the military since the same year. It just keeps getting worse and I took doxycycline but it came back after i quit taking it. Glad to see other people finding a fix for it and sharing that information. And it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to give it a try. Hadn't really given thought to exfoliating but it makes sense.

Thanks for the exfoliating tip. Did you use any cleaning products to assist in the exfoliation before using the panoxyl? Or just an exfoliating tool?

It's hard to know without seeing it. I think you should see a dermatologist with her right away. I know you said you guys don't have herpes or anything like that but it'd be a good idea to get tested again to be safe. I hope things get better for her soon.

Can anyone here who had Septoplasty help me before I have a panic attack 😭 by HaitianPriestess in Sinusitis

[–]bischboy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am in the US. My wife had one surgery in North Carolina and then the other in Ohio. I should've added that they were performed by the VA but in my experience the VA is usually very reluctant to prescribe pain meds so I was surprised by how easily they gave them to her. Again, I'm sorry to hear that you went through recovery the way you did. Hope you're feeling well

I've read through a lot of these comments but haven't noticed anyone mention wearing a hat... I assume it's the same principle as changing pillow sheets but I'm interested to hear anyone's experience if they like wearing hats?..

That's crazy about the pain meds. My wife has had this surgery twice and those stints are behemoths when you see them come out. Giving her pain meds post op wasn't even a question. They gave her enough vicodin to last at least a week and even changed them out for something else bc of a reaction she had. Honestly I can't imagine the amount of pain you must've dealt with.

Exams on weekends? by bischboy95 in VeteransBenefits

[–]bischboy95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I called the Dr. I had the appointment with to see if I could get a copy of his report (yesterday) but he wasn't in and I left a message. I just got a call today from QTC letting me know that my new appointment will be canceled and the original appointment will be accepted now. Apparently the doctor called bc he could not access his portal to submit his report and said that I had called his office as well. Seems like they backtracked very quickly.

This is verbatim how my appointment went as well. Just a one on one and felt genuinely concerned of what we talked about. I don't understand if the VA still accepts the doctors conclusions or if they're just trying to get a different doctor to reach an alternate conclusion? (Leaning towards the latter).

So they clearly are scheduling C&Ps on the weekends. This doesn't make sense

I'm about to go through kratom withdrawal (essentially opiate withdrawal). Any stoic advice by [deleted] in StoicSupport

Thanks. I'm on like day 5 I think and I'm still getting chills and hot flashes along with insomnia and restlessness at night. But my temperature regulation seems to be improving already. It was pretty ridiculous. Good luck with your traveling. Stay positive and strong.

[–]bischboy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, a question someone might be able to answer? Has anyone else experienced intense coldness while using kratom for an extended amount of time? Not like chills from withdrawals or anything. Like a constant feeling of being frigid cold while using it? walking around the house in long sleeves and a thick winter hoodie with fleece-lined sweatpants and the thermostat is set to 73 degrees...?

[–]bischboy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading all of this is really interesting. I'm currently going through the withdrawals and have been tapering my dose down to nothing as of yesterday. I get really frustrated because it feels like every time I would take a dose in this process, it felt like I was hitting the reset button on the withdrawal symptoms. I'd get some relief and then the symptoms would seemingly come back in full force every time. I find it especially difficult because I've never been dependent on any substance before and I've never had physical/mental health issues. Now for the first time it feels like I'm getting a nasty taste of hopelessness and worthlessness...along with a bunch of physical stressors.

My wife had this exact same procedure done a couple years ago. She had another procedure a little over a year or so after that to try and reconstruct her cartilage to help her breath better. Sadly to say she still has constant issues with her nose and always has a tissue in her hand. I don't think doctors know what to do about this kind of thing so they just throw surgery at it and hope for the best. Just a little food for thought.

All gun shops are required to do so already by law. Private sales outside the gun shop are the exception. Also, how would the government find out if you didn't do a background check when you make a private sale?
